y/n presses her lips together as she stares at her half eaten dinner. "i don't know," y/n sighs to her friends, "like, she's a really nice girl. i'm scared that i'm gonna mess things up with her, and everything gets really awkward with our families." "well... does she like you?" jess asks. "well last time she made, like, a flirt comment, almost?" y/n assumes. "what did she say?!" scarlett asks, excitedly. "well, she drove my car back to mine and she was nervous to drive it, so i was like 'good job, ten out of ten'," y/n explains, "and she goes 'me or the driving?'." everyone laughs. "what did you say?" julien asks. "i just laughed and was like 'good one'," y/n sighs, knowing that she could've came up with a better response. "y/n, you fumbled," mateo says. "i know! i panicked," y/n admits, "but i'll be better next time."
a week later
olivia hugs y/n, getting her usual back rub as she does. "haven't seen you in a bit," y/n says as she pulls away. "i know," olivia smiles.the families start to eat dinner, and y/n looks up as jennifer lets out a hum, as if she remembered to bring something up. "liv! how's it going with that guy? what's his name again... louis?"
y/n furrows her eyebrows in confusion, looking at olivia. "oh... yeah," olivia says, nodding, "it's going alright." "who's this?" y/n's dad asks, y/n grateful that he asked because she wasn't sure if she would do it herself. "just... this guy i'm kinda talking to," olivia shakes her head, "nothing's really happening. next question." y/n looks away. she was too late.
y/n and olivia walk into olivia's room, and y/n's mind was still on that guy. she decides to ask about it.
"so... louis, huh?" y/n asks. olivia chuckles, shaking her head, "it's not even, like, a big thing. my parents just like to make it a big deal." "where'd you meet?" y/n asks. "at my school," olivia says, "we never talked until he dm'd me literally, like, at the start of this week." "interesting," y/n squints playfully. "what're you gonna do if he breaks my heart, y/n garcia?" olivia asks, turning and looking at y/n. "break his face," y/n says playfully, making olivia laugh. "you know, you're kinda like a sister i never had," olivia says.
oh my god.
"and then she just, like, sister-zoned me," y/n tells her friends. "no!" scarlett gasps. "god, i got, like, double-whammied today," y/n sighs, "i'm gonna see if that louis guy and liv have each other on instagram."
y/n searches up 'louis' on olivia's following, looking at the one account. she looks at the profile picture, at the brunette. she sighs at his private account. maybe it was for the better.
y/n lays in bed, sighing. olivia and her didn't text a lot. olivia was probably messaging him right now.
olivia checks her phone, sighing as she looks around the restaurant, waiting for louis. still no message, it's been half an hour.
olivia looks at the time again. forty minutes. maybe he wasn't showing up.
an hour later, she picks up her phone, refreshing her messages with him. her mom dropepd her here, hoping that her and louis would do something and that he would drop her home.
y/n furrows her eyebrows at the incoming call from olivia. she answers it, bringing it to her ear, "liv?" "yeah, hi, y/n. i'm sorry, but are you free? are you able to pick me up?" olivia asks, on the other end. "yeah, of course," y/n says, getting out of bed, "did something happen?" "yeah, but i'll talk when you get here," olivia says, "sending you the address now. thank you, garcia."
y/n gets out of the car, and olivia sees y/n through the restaurant. y/n takes note of the empty spot opposite her, walking to the restaurant as olivia gets out of her seat.
