Nabi hurried excitedly through the busy school corridor. Her cheeks were flushed, a mixture of exertion and barely concealed excitement.

Jungwon moved with a casual elegance that was typical of him.

"Jungwon!"

As Nabi approached him, she felt a fluttering in her stomach, a mixture of nervousness and anticipation.

"Jungwon!"

Jungwon seemed lost in thought, his eyes fixed on the cafeteria where the other students might already be waiting for him.
He didn't notice the girl walking behind him, her small steps barely able to keep up with his pace.

Suddenly Areum appeared at his side. Her laughter rang through the crowd as she said something to the boy, gaining his attention.
She is the complete opposite of Nabi.
Loud, self-confident and always the center of attention.
Just the way Areum likes it.

Nabi stopped abruptly, her eyes fixed on the pair who were now walking side by side.

She felt paralyzed, unable to move as a wave of disappointment washed over her. The pain spreading through her chest became unbearable and she fought for every breath.
At first she didn't think much of it, but when her legs became weak and she slid down the wall, she knew it was because of her illness.
She knew that if she overexerted her body it would have a negative effect, but she didn't think her pulmonary fibrosis was so advanced that she would get breathless with such little activity.

Her hand clenched against her chest as if to suppress the pain, but it was in vain.
She had forgotten her illness for a moment and now she was paying the price for her carelessness.

The students around her seemed to ignore her, some even giggled as they passed her.

"Ohh what's wrong with little Nabi?"

"Need someone attention again?"

One of the boys from her class knelt down to her with a dirty grin.
Suddenly he held his hand in front of her mouth and nose, making it even harder for her to breathe.
He pressed his hand into her face so hard that it hurt.

Nabi kicked him in the balls with her foot so that he fell on his back with a scream of pain while his friends, who were watching the scenario, laughed.
Her breathing was far too fast and she couldn't calm down.
The fear that they would hurt her grew.

"You- You'll regret this!"

The boy stood up with shaky legs, wobbly on his feet as he walked down the corridor with his friends by his side.
For the moment, Nabi was safe, but what would happen to her next?
