The sun was shining warmly as Nabi arrived at the amusement park entrance, her jacket slung over her arm. She spotted Sunoo immediately, his bright energy impossible to miss. He waved enthusiastically, a grin splitting his face, and she couldn’t help but smile back. Beside him stood Jungwon, casually leaning against the railing, and another guy she didn’t recognize.
"Nabi!" Sunoo called, jogging up to her and immediately pulling her into a quick hug. "You made it! Isn’t it a perfect day for this?"
"It is," she replied, her voice light. "Thanks for inviting me."
"Of course! What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t plan a perfect spring day for us?" he teased, pressing a soft kiss to her temple. His affection warmed her chest, and she reached for his hand instinctively.
"Even Jungwon is there," Sunoo continued, gesturing toward the boy who gave Nabi a small wave and a knowing smile.
"And this is Taehyun," he added, nodding toward the new face.
"Nice to meet you," she said, giving Taehyun a polite smile.
"Likewise," Taehyun replied with a slight grin, his sharp features and quiet confidence making him stand out. "Jungwon said you’d be coming."
"Alright, team," Sunoo declared, clapping his hands together. "We’re hitting the coasters first. Nabi and I are taking the front row. The rest of you can fight over the rest of the seats."
As the group made their way through the park, Sunoo stayed glued to Nabi’s side, his playful energy contagious. He dragged her from one ride to the next, his excitement making her laugh, while Jungwon and Taehyun trailed behind, occasionally exchanging comments about the chaos Sunoo left in his wake.
During one particularly intense coaster, Sunoo reached over to squeeze Nabi’s hand as they climbed the first hill. "You’re not scared, are you?" he teased, his voice loud enough to be heard over the clicking of the ride.
"Not at all," she shot back, her grin matching his.
As the coaster dropped, she screamed alongside him, her laughter mixing with the rush of adrenaline.
Afterward, the group stopped for snacks, Sunoo immediately pulling her to the food stand with a dramatic proclamation that only churros could fuel their next adventure. While they waited in line, Jungwon wandered over to Nabi, his tone casual but his gaze steady.
"Having fun?" he asked, his voice low enough that Sunoo, who was chatting with Taehyun a few feet away, couldn’t hear.
"Yeah," she replied, her smile genuine. "It’s nice to get out and just… enjoy things, you know?"
Jungwon nodded, his expression softening. "Good. You deserve it."
There was a beat of silence between them before Sunoo returned, practically shoving a churro into Nabi’s hands. "Eat up," he said, grinning. "We’ve still got the Ferris wheel and the haunted house to hit before the sun sets."
