Finally, breakfast was ready. They sat down together on the coffee table enjoying the meal they had prepared.

Sunoo looked around until he saw the pictures of Nabi and the two adults.
"Do you live here alone?"

She nodded silently, focused on the fragrant food in front of her.

"My parents died in a car accident. I've lived alone ever since."

"I can't remember how old I was at the time. I just know how big everything seemed to me."
The girl's giggles lit up the room.

"I can't even remember my parents' faces."
Her gaze wandered to the pictures on the shelf.

"I don't even have pictures of their faces."

Sunoo was surprised, shocked and at the same time happy that she told him so openly. It meant a lot to him.

The revelation hung in the air, a mix of sadness and acceptance in Nabi's words. Sunoo's expression softened, a wave of empathy washing over him. The knowledge of her past, the loneliness she must have faced, brought a new depth to his understanding of her.

He reached across the table, placing his hand over hers. "I'm sorry you had to go through that,"

"But you've become such a strong and wonderful person. It's really admirable."

Her eyes lifted to meet his, while she gave his hand a gentle squeeze, appreciating his kind words and the comfort they brought.

Sunoo's thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions. He felt a protective instinct towards her, a desire to be there for her, to fill the void left by her loss. At the same time, he admired her resilience and the way she carried herself with such grace despite her past.

"I'm proud of you, doll."

His words made her shy. The girl had never heard anything like that before and never thought that anyone would ever be proud of her. Why should anyone be proud of her?

"If you ever need someone to talk to, or just someone to be there, I'm here for you," he offered sincerely.

Nabi nodded, her smile genuine.

Sunoo looked at her, his eyes filled with warmth. "You know, Nabi, you're not alone anymore. You have me now."

"So please tell me if something is bothering you or if one of those idiots from our school does something to you."

"I want to protect you, my love."

Nabi's heart fluttered at Sunoo's words, a mix of emotions washing over her. His declaration, "You have me now," resonated deeply, stirring feelings she hadn't fully acknowledged until now. His use of 'my love' caught her off guard, but there was a part of her that reveled in hearing it.
