Nabi sat in the sterile white room of the hospital, her hands fidgeting nervously in her lap. She had been through this routine countless times, but each visit seemed to carry a heavier weight than the last. The air felt cold, and the faint beeping of monitors from the adjacent rooms only added to her anxiety.

Dr. Min entered the room, his expression as calm and professional as ever, though there was a hint of concern in his eyes. He had been Nabi's doctor for years, watching her condition slowly worsen despite her resilience. Today, however, he seemed more serious than usual.

"Nabi," he began, settling into the chair across from her and glancing at the tablet in his hands. "How have you been feeling lately? Any changes in your symptoms?"

She hesitated, her fingers tightening slightly around the edge of her coat. "The same," she said softly, though she knew it wasn't entirely true. The coughing fits were worse, and the tightness in her chest had become a constant companion. Still, she didn't want to dwell on it.

Dr. Min studied her for a moment, his expression softening. "You know why I'm going to ask this next question," he said gently. "Have you given any more thought to the surgery?"

Nabi felt her chest tighten-not just from her condition, but from the weight of the decision she had been avoiding for so long. She lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes. "I... I don't know," she murmured. "It's a big risk, isn't it? What if something goes wrong?"

Dr. Min sighed, setting the tablet down on the desk between them. "Nabi," he said, his voice firm but kind, "we've been over this. The longer you wait, the harder this surgery will be. And if you decide against it entirely..." He paused, his tone growing heavier. "You won't have much time left. The disease will progress, and there won't be anything else we can do."

Nabi flinched at his words, the reality of her situation hitting her like a cold wave. She had heard it before, but this time, it felt different-more urgent, more final.

"I know it's scary," Dr. Min continued, his voice softening again. "But this surgery is your best chance. If we do it soon, you'll have a real shot at living the life you deserve."

There was a long silence between them. Nabi's mind raced with thoughts of what she might lose, of the risks involved, but also of the people she cared about-Sunoo. She thought about all the moments she still wanted to experience, all the dreams she hadn't yet chased.

Finally, she looked up, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination. "Okay," she said, her voice trembling but resolute. "I'll do it. I'll have the surgery."

Dr. Min's expression shifted, relief washing over his features as he offered her a warm, reassuring smile. "That's the right decision, Nabi," he said sincerely. "I'm so glad you've made this choice. We'll do everything we can to make sure it's a success."
