In the hallway, Jungwon had just arrived and saw the team rushing Nabi toward the OR. His stomach dropped as he caught sight of her pale face, her eyes filled with fear. He hurried to Sunoo's side, his own panic barely contained.

"What happened?" Jungwon asked, his voice shaky. "Why is she going back to surgery?"

Sunoo looked up, his face tear-streaked and his hands trembling. "She-she wasn't stabilizing," he said hoarsely. "Dr. Min said it's critical. They... they don't know if she'll make it through this time."

Jungwon's chest tightened, and he placed a hand on Sunoo's shoulder, his own emotions threatening to spill over. "She'll make it," he said, his voice firm despite the fear in his eyes. "She's strong, Sunoo. She's stronger than anyone I know."

Sunoo nodded weakly, his gaze distant as he stared at the door Nabi had disappeared through. "I promised her," he whispered. "I promised I'd be here when she wakes up. I can't lose her, Jungwon. I can't."

Jungwon's grip on Sunoo's shoulder tightened, his own tears threatening to fall. "You won't," he said quietly. "She's going to fight. And we'll be here for her when she does."

Hours later, the waiting room door opened, and Dr. Min stepped in. His face was drawn, his usual calm demeanor overshadowed by a heavy sorrow. Sunoo and Jungwon both stood immediately, their hearts pounding as they searched his expression for answers.

Dr. Min hesitated for a moment, his silence louder than any words. Finally, he took a deep breath, his gaze filled with regret. "I'm so sorry," he said softly, his voice trembling. "We did everything we could, but Nabi's heart gave out during the surgery. She didn't make it."

The words hit Sunoo like a freight train, stealing the air from his lungs. He staggered back, his hands gripping the back of a chair for support. His knees buckled, and he sank to the floor, his head in his hands as tears streamed down his face.

"No," he whispered, his voice cracking. "No, this can't be real. She can't be... she can't be gone."

Jungwon stood frozen, his fists clenched at his sides as he fought to keep himself together. But the sight of Sunoo breaking down shattered his own composure, and tears spilled from his eyes as he slumped against the wall.

Dr. Min crouched beside Sunoo, his hand resting gently on his shoulder. "She fought so hard," he said quietly. "But her body just couldn't keep up. I'm so sorry, Sunoo. I know how much she meant to you."

Sunoo shook his head violently, his sobs growing louder. "She was everything," he choked out, his voice filled with anguish. "She was my whole world. How am I supposed to... how do I go on without her?"

Jungwon, despite his own grief, moved to kneel beside Sunoo. His hand hesitated before resting on Sunoo's back, offering silent support. "You don't have to do it alone," he said softly, his voice thick with emotion. "We'll get through this together. She wouldn't want you to give up."
