"Jungwon!" she called out, her voice trembling. Before he could react, she wrapped her arms around him from behind, holding him tightly.

Jungwon froze in place, his breath hitching. "N-Nabi?" he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. He slowly turned his head to glance over his shoulder, disbelief written all over his face. "You… you’re awake?"

Her face was pressed against his back, and she nodded, her arms tightening around him. "I heard everything," she admitted softly, her voice muffled. "I wasn’t asleep."

His entire body stiffened, and she could feel the tension radiating from him. "You… you heard me?" he repeated, his voice breaking slightly. "I—Nabi, I didn’t mean to—"

"Don’t," she interrupted, her voice firm but soft. "Don’t apologize, Jungwon."

He fell silent, his hands hanging limply at his sides as if he didn’t know what to do. Nabi slowly loosened her grip and stepped around him so she could face him. Her eyes searched his, filled with emotions she couldn’t quite put into words.

"You don’t have to say you’re sorry," she said quietly, her gaze unwavering. "I just… I need you to know that I don’t hate you. I could never hate you."

Jungwon’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, his jaw tightening as he struggled to keep his composure. "But I’ve made everything harder for you," he said, his voice trembling. "I’ve made it harder for you and Sunoo. I… I shouldn’t have—"

"You didn’t make anything harder," she interrupted again, her voice trembling now. "You’ve always been there for me, Jungwon. Always. And I can’t… I can’t just let you leave thinking you’re a burden."

His breath caught at her words, and for a moment, the two of them stood in silence, the tension between them thick. Jungwon’s hands slowly lifted, hesitant, before he gently placed them on her shoulders. His touch was soft, almost as if he were afraid she might break.

"You don’t understand," he murmured, his voice raw. "Every time I see you, I want to be the one who makes you happy. But I know… I know I can’t be."

Nabi’s heart ached at his words, and tears welled in her eyes. She placed her hands over his, her fingers trembling. "Jungwon," she whispered, her voice cracking. "You do make me happy. You always have."

He looked at her, his expression filled with pain and disbelief. "But not the way Sunoo does," he said softly, his voice barely audible.

Nabi couldn’t respond, her mind swirling with emotions she couldn’t untangle. The way Jungwon was looking at her—so full of love and longing—made her chest tighten painfully.

Before she could think, she leaned forward, resting her forehead against his. "I don’t know what to say," she admitted, her voice breaking. "I don’t know how to fix this."
