The boy then wrapped his arm around her body, pulling her into his warmth, and gently stroked her head to soothe her. His lips touched the hair on her head, leaving behind soft, gentle kisses. "I'm here, Nabi. Let it out, whatever it is. I'll listen to you."

The girl clung to the boy's jacket so tightly that she pulled him closer to her, causing his backpack, which was hanging loosely over his shoulder, to fall to the ground.

She buried her face in his chest as she clung to him more fiercely. "If I told you about the darkness inside of me, would you still look at me like I'm the sun?" Her voice was weak, worrying the boy.

"What are you talking about, Nabi? What's wrong?" His voice was gentle and calm, careful not to burden her further. "I hope someday you see yourself the way I see you because you are the strongest person I know and deserve the most beautiful life."

She sniffed her nose as she shook her head. "There's so much inside of me, I don't know what to do with it.."

"I think it's telling you something. There's a part of you that has been neglected for a long time." His hand tenderly caressed her hair strands. "It's screaming for help. I know it seems threatening, but don't be scared, try to feel it. The pain that keeps being avoided can't be eased; it wants to be heard. Try to listen to what it has to say. That's all you need to do for now."

Sunoo felt a faint sigh as he sensed her grip on his jacket tighten.

"What is wrong with me?" she sniffed. "I'm ugly, I can't get anything right, I'm annoying. Everyone hates me, is against me, and I don't understand why. Why me? What have I done? I'm just too much.."

Sunoo bit his lip. "Please don't think that way, it's not true. You are the most beautiful being. Even if the whole world were against you, I would stand proudly by your side."

"M-My biggest fear is that you will see me the way I see me.." Her voice was soft. "I don't deserve to live. I don't deserve to be in this world. I'm useless. I don't want to wake up every day hoping that the bad day will go by as quickly as possible so that I can go to sleep and not have to deal with any of it.."

She tried to free herself from his embrace, but he didn't let her, instead, he hugged her tighter. This made the girl even more emotional, his warmth, his sweet scent, his touch, his voice, his proximity, she couldn't stop it, tears flowed down her cheeks, soaking his jacket. Her sniffling, her sighing deeply affected him, making him also feel a great wave of sadness.

"Sunoo.." She breathed in, so he could hear the tremble in her voice, in her body. "What's the point of working so hard to get tons of money but ending up dying?"

"What do you mean-"

"Ending up dying because the surgery failed."

The boy's eyes widened. "What are you talking about?"
