The next day, she walked through the school hallways, feeling the weight of the other students' gazes on her. Their looks made her anxious, and she could feel the judgment and curiosity in their eyes. Areum, Suho, and their friends looked particularly pleased, as if they had gotten exactly what they wanted: the breakup between Sunoo and Nabi.

The girl was terrified of running into Sunoo, but she felt a strange mix of relief and dread when she didn't see him. Her heart raced whenever she thought about encountering him. Just as she started to relax a little, she turned a corner and there he was, coming out of his classroom.

They both stopped in their tracks, staring at each other with wide eyes. Neither of them could speak or move, the air between them thick with unspoken words and intense emotions. Her heart pounded so loudly she was sure he could hear it.

Before he could open his mouth to say anything, she turned and fled. She ran to her old spot, the rooftop of the school, where she used to spend her time alone before she had met Jungwon and Sunoo. She slid down against the wall in a corner of the rooftop, her thoughts consumed by the look in his eyes.

Uncontrollably, a sob escaped her lips, and tears she had tried so hard to hold back began to fall. She felt she had no right to be sad; she had brought this upon herself. Covering her mouth with her hand to stifle the sounds, she froze when she heard the rooftop door open and his gentle, yet desperate voice calling out for her.

"Nabi? Are you here?" His voice was soft, filled with desperation and worry. He walked around the rooftop, searching for her but not seeing her in the corner where she hid.

The girl's heart pounded even harder, her panic rising as she heard his footsteps moving closer. She thought he might leave when he didn't find her, but as she peeked around the corner, she was startled to see him still there, slowly making his way toward her.

"Please, Nabi, I just want to talk," his voice cracking slightly. He sounded so lost and heartbroken that it made her chest tighten even more.

She pressed herself further into the corner, her breath quickening. She thought he might have given up and left, but now he was almost upon her. In a rush of panic, she tried to scoot back, but there was nowhere to go. Sunoo's eyes met hers, filled with so much pain and confusion that it took her breath away.

"Nabi," he whispered, stepping closer. "Why are you doing this? Why are you hiding from me?"

She couldn't speak, couldn't find the words to explain the turmoil inside her. Her eyes filled with fresh tears as she watched him approach, her heart aching with the love she still felt for him, mixed with the fear and guilt that had driven her to push him away.

Sunoo knelt down in front of her, his eyes never leaving hers. "Please, just talk to me," he pleaded softly. "I don't understand why you're doing this."
