The last few days had been incredibly exhausting for Nabi. She had been trying to avoid Sunoo at all costs, yet every time she saw him, the urge to reach out to him was overwhelming. He had noticed her attempts to stay away, but he also saw the longing in her eyes each time their paths crossed. It was clear to him that she wanted to reach out, to close the gap between them, but something held her back. Each encounter left him with an ache in his chest, a longing to touch her, to reassure her that he was still there for her.
Sunoo watched her from afar, noticing how she would change her route just to avoid walking past him. He saw the way her eyes would linger on him before she quickly looked away, her expression a mix of longing and pain. It hurt him deeply to see her struggle, to see her try so hard to stay away when he wanted nothing more than to reach out and hold her. Every time their eyes met, it was like a silent plea.
Today was no different. They had swimming class, and once again, Sunoo's class was combined with Nabi's. Sunoo and Jungwon were standing together, chatting idly about school and their plans for the weekend. Sunoo's laughter echoed in the humid air of the pool area, but it abruptly stopped when he saw Nabi enter.
She stood at the other end of the pool, her figure highlighted by the tight, form-fitting swimsuit she wore. Sunoo's breath caught in his throat. The swimsuit hugged her small frame perfectly, accentuating every curve and highlighting her delicate features. Her skin seemed to glow under the harsh pool lights, and her hair was tied up in a neat bun, exposing the graceful line of her neck.
His eyes widened as he took in her appearance. She looked incredibly attractive, her shy demeanor only adding to her allure. She stood there, clearly feeling uncomfortable and exposed, her arms wrapped around herself as if trying to hide. But to Sunoo, she was stunning. He was captivated by the sight of her, unable to look away.
He felt a surge of protectiveness mixed with a deep, aching desire. He wanted to go to her, to tell her how beautiful she looked, to hold her and make her feel safe. His heart pounded in his chest, and his mouth went dry as he watched her nervously glance around the pool area. He could see the way she shifted her weight from foot to foot, her discomfort palpable, and it made his heart ache.
As he continued to watch her, he couldn't help but think back to the painful moment on the rooftop, when her shirt had been cut open, leaving her exposed and vulnerable. The memory of her lying on top of Jungwon, so close and so vulnerable, haunted him. He had felt a mix of deep concern and a twinge of jealousy. He didn't like the thought of her being so near to someone else, especially when she was so exposed. The image of her in such a state had made him feel incredibly protective and worried about her well-being.
Jungwon, who had been talking animatedly, noticed that Sunoo had suddenly gone quiet. Following his friend's gaze, he turned to see what had captured his attention. His eyes landed on Nabi, and he felt a similar pang of admiration and concern. She looked incredibly vulnerable standing there, her small body accentuated by the swimsuit. The sight stirred something within him, a mix of protectiveness and a growing affection that he couldn't quite place.
