After hours of sitting vigil beside her bed, Sunoo’s head snapped up when he noticed Nabi stirring slightly. Her fingers twitched faintly, and her eyelids fluttered as if she were trying to wake up. He immediately leaned forward, gripping her hand gently.

"Nabi?" he called softly, his voice laced with relief and worry. "Can you hear me?"

Her eyes slowly opened, heavy and unfocused at first, as if even the effort of waking up was too much. She blinked a few times, her gaze eventually finding Sunoo’s face. A faint, tired smile tugged at her lips, though it was barely there.

"Sunoo…" she whispered, her voice hoarse and barely audible.

"I’m here," he said quickly, his hand tightening around hers. His heart ached at how frail and weak she looked, but seeing her awake brought tears of relief to his eyes. "You made it, Nabi. You’re okay now."

Nabi tried to speak again, but her throat was too dry, and all that came out was a faint rasp. Sunoo immediately reached for a glass of water with a straw, holding it carefully to her lips. "Just a little," he said gently. "You don’t have to force yourself."

She took a small sip, the cool liquid soothing her parched throat. Her head sank back against the pillow, her body too weak to do more.

"You need to eat," Sunoo said softly, his voice filled with concern. "You’ve been through so much. Let me help you, okay?"

Nabi gave the faintest nod, too exhausted to argue. Sunoo reached for the small bowl of broth the nurse had left on the bedside table, scooping up a spoonful. He brought it to her lips carefully, watching her closely as she took a slow, hesitant sip.

"That’s it," he encouraged, his voice soft and soothing. "Just a little more, Nabi. You need your strength."

But after just one bite, she turned her head weakly away, her eyes closing. "I… can’t," she murmured, her voice barely audible. "Too tired…"

Sunoo’s heart clenched, but he didn’t push her. He set the bowl aside and leaned closer, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "It’s okay," he whispered. "You don’t have to force yourself. Just rest, Nabi. I’m here."

Her eyes fluttered open slightly, a flicker of guilt crossing her face. "I’m sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I’m so weak…"

"Don’t say that," Sunoo said firmly, though his voice remained gentle. "You’re not weak, Nabi. You just went through something huge. It’s okay to take your time. I’ll be here, no matter how long it takes."

Her lips curved into the faintest smile, and she nodded weakly before her eyes closed again, her breathing evening out as she drifted back into a light sleep. Sunoo stayed by her side, holding her hand tightly, silently promising to take care of her every step of the way.
