The pink-haired boy turned to face her, walking towards her who stood in his murky green joggers. "They look better on you than on me," he chuckled, kneeling down. "They're a bit long, aren't they? Let me roll them up for you so you don't trip over—"
Nabi, however, walked past him, reaching for her own trousers. "It's fine."
He quickly stood and reached for her wrist before she could walk away, sitting on the edge of the infirmary bed. He was deeply concerned, sensing her dejection, completely understandable after the humiliating incident in the gym.
"It's over now. It won't happen again, I'll make sure of it," he assured her.
She frowned, biting her teeth together, not wanting to relive the moment, especially knowing that Sunoo and Jungwon had witnessed it. She tried to inched forward, hoping he would let go of her wrist, but he didn't.
"Nabi.."
"Please let me go," she pleaded.
"What's wrong?" he asked, his concern growing. "I won't let that happen again. You can count on me, I—"
"That's not it," she interrupted, her voice faltering. She was lying; the incident played a big part in her mood, but something else weighed heavily on her mind, something she couldn't quite understand.
"What is it then?"
The boy released her wrist, gently taking her fingers in his. Silence hung heavily in the air for a moment before she gathered her courage.
"Did you find her pretty?" she asked, struggling to keep her voice steady, referring to the girl from his class.
"What do you mean, who—" he started, confused.
"The girls.. from your class."
"No, why would you think that?" he wondered, genuinely puzzled.
"I saw how you looked at her.." The girl's voice broke slightly, revealing her vulnerability.
Sunoo was taken aback, he hadn't realized how his actions might have been perceived. "I didn't look at them in that way," he tried to explain.
She attempted to pull away from his grasp, her emotions swirling as she fought to hold back tears. She felt misunderstood and hurt.
