Once Jungwon was gone, the room felt quieter, more intimate. Sunoo shifted closer to Nabi’s bedside, his expression growing serious as he reached for her hand. He held it gently, his thumb brushing over her knuckles.

"How are you feeling, really?" he asked softly, his voice filled with concern. "I mean, I know you’re smiling and playing along, but… I can see how tired you are."

Nabi hesitated, her gaze dropping to their joined hands. "I’m okay," she said after a moment, her voice barely above a whisper. "Just… tired. It’s hard to do anything right now."

Sunoo’s grip on her hand tightened slightly. "You don’t have to pretend with me, Nabi," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "You’ve been through so much, and I can’t even imagine how hard it’s been for you. But you don’t have to face this alone. I’m here. I’ll always be here."

She looked up at him, her eyes shimmering with emotion. "I know," she said softly. "I don’t know what I’d do without you, Sunoo."

He gave her a small, reassuring smile. "You don’t have to know," he said gently. "Because I’m not going anywhere."

For a moment, they sat in silence, the weight of their emotions hanging in the air. Sunoo reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face as he leaned closer. "You scared me," he admitted, his voice breaking slightly. "When Dr. Min said you might not make it… I didn’t know what I’d do. I thought I was going to lose you."

Nabi’s chest tightened, and she reached up to touch his cheek, her fingers trembling. "I’m still here," she said softly. "And I’m going to keep fighting. For you. For us."

Sunoo leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "That’s all I need," he whispered. "You. Just you."

Sunoo pulled back slightly, his gaze locked on hers. His hand lingered on her cheek, his thumb gently brushing against her skin. "Nabi," he murmured, his voice soft and filled with emotion, "can I… can I kiss you?"

Her eyes widened slightly, and her cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink. She looked away shyly, her heart racing as she processed his words. "Sunoo…" she whispered, her voice trembling. "You… you don’t have to ask that…"

"But I want to," he said firmly, his tone gentle yet insistent. "I want you to be okay with it. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, not now… not ever."

Her fingers fidgeted with the edge of her blanket, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. She was overwhelmed by his sincerity, the way he always seemed to care so deeply about her feelings. Slowly, she turned her gaze back to him, her cheeks still warm as she nodded shyly.

"O-okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "You can…"

Sunoo’s lips curved into a soft smile, his eyes shining with affection. He leaned in slowly, giving her plenty of time to pull away if she wanted to. His hand remained on her cheek, steadying her as their faces grew closer.
