Nabi's gaze suddenly shifted to his knuckles, noticing a fresh wound. Her eyes widened with concern, and her voice filled with panic, "What happened to your hand?"
Sunoo tried to dismiss her worry with a half-hearted smile, "It's nothing, really. Just a little scrape."
But she wasn't convinced, her brows furrowing as she gently took his hand in hers, examining the wound more closely. "This doesn't look like 'nothing','" she insisted, her tone laced with anxiety.
"Tell me what happened," she urged, her voice soft yet insistent.
Sunoo hesitated, his eyes darting away briefly as he considered what to reveal. The truth could worry her even more, yet the trust evident in her gaze made it impossible for him to fabricate a story.
After all, they promised to be honest with each other.
Finally, he met her worried eyes, his resolve crumbling. "I... I got into a little scuffle," he admitted, his voice low.
"A scuffle?" her grip on his hand tightened slightly.
"It was with that guy who has been bothering you," he confessed, watching her reaction closely. "Suho."
He saw the flicker of shock and then understanding pass through her expression. "I couldn't stand hearing the things he was saying about you. I just reacted."
Nabi's heart swelled with a complex mix of emotions. She was touched by his protectiveness, yet troubled by the thought of him getting hurt on her behalf. "You shouldn't have. What if you had gotten seriously hurt?" Her voice trembled, betraying her concern.
Sunoo squeezed her hand gently, trying to reassure her. "I'm okay, really. And I'd do it again if it meant keeping you safe."
She looked at him, her eyes softening as she absorbed his sincerity. She knew she couldn't change his protective nature, and part of her didn't want to. With a resigned sigh, she leaned forward. "Just... be careful, okay? I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you because of me."
Sunoo smiled, touched by her concern but resolute in his stance. "I know you're worried, but I'd do it again. I can't just stand by when someone talks about you like that. I need to make sure they understand it's not okay."
Nabi looked up at him, her expression a mixture of admiration and anxiety. "You're impossible," she murmured, a faint smile playing on her lips despite the situation.
The girl's eyes were filled with worry as she examined the wound on his hand. "You shouldn't do things like this," she said softly, her voice laced with concern. "You're putting yourself in danger because of me..."
"I don't deserve this.." she mumbled.
I don't deserve you.
Sunoo gently cupped her face, looking into her eyes with a resolve that was both comforting and unwavering. "I will always protect you. No matter what," he insisted, his voice firm yet gentle. "I can't stand by while someone hurts you."
