Nabi's heart fluttered when she saw Sunoo walk into the room, his familiar presence bringing a mix of warmth and anxiety. Her mind was a jumble of thoughts, still trying to piece together reality from the fog of her exhaustion. She could tell from the look in his eyes that he was about to tease her—Sunoo always had that playful gleam when he wanted to poke fun.

He sat down beside her, leaning back with a casual smile, his arm brushing against hers. "Do you remember," he began, his voice light but with a hint of mischief, "that time you swore you would never fall in love with me?"

Nabi's eyes widened in surprise, caught off guard by his question. She opened her mouth to respond, but words failed her.

"I said a lot of things back then," she mumbled, her voice barely audible. She tried to play it off, but she could already see the grin spreading across his face. Sunoo loved teasing her about this, as if he had been waiting for years just to remind her of that moment.

His grin widened as he tilted his head, his amber eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, come on, doll. Don't act like you forgot. You were so sure of yourself." He chuckled softly, leaning a little closer.

The girl winced at his perfect memory of her words. She could feel the heat rising in her face, embarrassed by how certain she had been back then. "I didn’t mean it like that," she protested, her voice defensive but soft.

"Oh, really?" he raised an eyebrow, his grin never faltering. "And what exactly did you mean, hmm?"

She shot him a half-hearted glare, but there was no real bite behind it. "I meant... I just didn't think it would happen. I didn't think we would happen."

Sunoo laughed softly, the sound warm and teasing. "You were so sure, Nabi. You were always so stubborn. I guess I proved you wrong, huh?" He nudged her playfully, but his eyes softened as he looked at her, a tenderness creeping into his gaze that made her heart skip a beat.

"Yeah," she admitted quietly, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I guess you did."

Sunoo's teasing demeanor softened, and for a moment, the room grew quieter. The playful banter between them faded as the weight of their past settled in. Memories of the times they spent together, the laughter, the teasing, and the quiet moments of affection all came rushing back.

"I never really forgot that day," he said, his voice now more serious, though still tinged with affection. "It was the first time I realized how much I wanted to prove you wrong—not just for the sake of it, but because I knew... deep down, I wanted you to fall for me. I wanted to be the one you chose."

Nabi's heart tightened at his words. The sincerity in his tone, the way he looked at her now, it was as if he was peeling away the layers of teasing and showing her the depth of his feelings. She had always known Sunoo cared for her, but hearing him say it so openly made her chest tighten.
