Work Text:
Charlie Spring was practically bouncing with nerves and excitement as he got ready for the day. Today he was going to Nick Nelson's house.

Nick was basically Charlie's best friend at the moment, and Charlie secretly liked him as more than a friend. How could he not? Nick was basically the human version of a golden retriever personality wise, and was incredibly fit.

Charlie wasn't entirely sure what they would be doing today, but it was the first day of their winter holiday and Nick had invited him over. Charlie was so, so excited.

But he also had another plan for the day. He was going to try to tell Nick that he liked him...as more than a friend. As much as his other best friend, Tao, tries to convince him that Nick is straight, Charlie is still convinced otherwise.

They had had a rather...long hug a couple days ago, and Charlie just noticed some subtle signs that maybe Nick did like him back.

When Charlie arrived at Nick's house he stood hesitantly for a second, scared to ring the doorbell. But the second he rang it, there was Nick.

He looked so good today. Of course, he always did, but today he looked extra pretty. He had on one of what he called his "grandpa christmas sweaters," and it fit him really well. And the color made his eyes pop, they were such a pretty brown color, and ...

"Charlie!! It's so good to see you," Nick interrupted Charlie's train of thought and invited him inside, "Watch out, Nellie's gonna try to come outside."

Charlie giggles and rubs Nellie's head before looking back up at Nick, "Hi," he smiled at him.

Nick smiles back, and replies with "hi!"

Charlie practically melted at Nick's smile, sure that his cheeks were already turning a bright shade of pink. "So, uh, what's the plan? You said you had something for us to do today?" Despite Charlie's attempts to ask Nick what they were doing over the last couple days, he hadn't given it away, insisting it would be a surprise.

"We're gonna bake Christmas cookies!" Nick grinned and led Charlie into his kitchen.

"Ooh, that sounds so fun!" Charlie was so excited. He was honestly a pretty shit baker, but Nick had told Charlie at one point when they were messaging that he loved baking.

As Nick put on his apron, Charlie could practically feel his face get warm as he watched (stared at) Nick. He looked so good. Charlie didn't know what it was about the apron, but the way it cinched around his waist and the way Nick rolled up his sleeves to reveal toned arms underneath...

"Oh, uh, is there something on my face? You're staring a bit," Nick tilted his head to the side a bit, similar to a golden retriever. Charlie could swear he even saw Nick start blushing as well.

"No- uh, you look so good- oh- uh- I mean your sweater looks so good, uh," Charlie started blushing even harder now. Get yourself together. He cringed at himself internally.
