Summary:

Nick and Charlie do the 'This or That' TikTok trend. (It's several years after it was popular, but they still do it.)
Work Text:
The video began. It was two boys, one broader, with auburn hair, the other more lithe with dark curls. They stood side by side in front of a park, grinning and laughing as the recognizable music began.

This speech is my recital, I think it's very vital...

At the top of the screen, words appeared, saying "This or That." Then, in front of each boy, "with Nick and Charlie!"

The first choice came up, simple: cats or dogs. The boy on the left, Nick, bent down out of frame and picked up a collie, who looked thrilled to be involved. He casually strolled off screen while the other, Charlie, waffled back and forth before going the opposite direction for cats.

The next clip began, with one side saying 'staying in,' while the other said 'going out.' Neither boy hesitated before trotting to the left, opting to stay in.

Immediately following, the screen displayed a choice between hot or cold, and both boys turned to the left for the heat.

The next clip, the split was between salty or sweet. Nick immediately veered to the right for sweet, while Charlie shrugged before walking to the left for salty.

Similarly for sports versus music, Nick went left for sports while Charlie immediately turned right. Again, when the screen was split between rom-coms or horror films, Nick walked to the left for romantic comedies while Charlie danced right for horror.

Then, the left said 'rain,' while the right said 'shine.' Charlie didn't hesitate, walking to the right, but Nick turned frantically from side to side. A text box popped up above his head as he clearly said something: "I like the sun but the rain reminds me of our kisses!"

Now, the screen was split between kisses or cuddles. With a cheeky grin, Charlie walked off to the left for kisses, but Nick stood in the middle again, looking even more stressed than before. He did not make a decision before the video switched again.

Nick already looked distressed when the next clip began, Charlie laughing as the words appeared: Marvel movies or Pirates of the Caribbean. Charlie went right for the Pirates movies while Nick stood center looking like he was ready to tug out his hair.

The next choice was between boys or girls. Charlie was gone before he was anything more than a blur, having disappeared to the side for boys. Nick stood there again, looking back and forth like he was being torn in half. Another text box appeared above him as he spoke, this time reading, "This is biphobic." Charlie came back on screen, clearly cackling, walking towards Nick just before the video cut again.

Next, the screen posed the question: loving Nick or loving Charlie. Both boys immediately started like they were in a race. They both turned left, in the direction of the 'loving Nick' choice, but in a turn of events, Nick swooped Charlie into his arms before he could take a step in any direction. He threw the boy over his shoulder like he weighed nothing, then immediately bolted in the direction of 'loving Charlie.' At the bottom of the screen, another box of text appeared, saying, "I will make him love himself if it's the last thing I do."

With that, the video was over.

At about five-hundred thousand likes later, it became their most viral video yet. But it wouldn't be their last.
