Summary:

So Olly wasn't in the heartstopper TV series and although I understand why I like to think they can work him in just a little so we get some of the cute interactions we did in the books. This is my take on this

Set after Season 1 mentions things discussed later in the book.
Work Text:
"Oh Charlie!" Jane Spring shouted from the bottom of the stairs. "Aunt Linda is coming over in a minute with Olly. I'm going to need you to watch him for a bit" Charlie froze from looking in the mirror of his room just registering his mum's words.

"Hang on... why am I watching him, where are you going?" He shouted back making his way towards the top of the landing.

"I have a hair appointment at 10 that I can't cancel and Linda's had to drop him off suddenly because her work's had a major power cut and she needs to go handle it!" Jane commented back. "I told her we could watch him because you would be in all day."

"I never said I would be in all day, I said I was going to Nick's house at some point." Charlie protested. It wasn't really a specified time but usually when they both texted that they were suitably ready. Unfortunately this didn't help in this particular situation

"Exactly, you've not made any official plans that you can't alter, you can see Nick another day." Something in that stuck with Charlie

"Wait exactly how long am I going to be watching him before you finish your hair appointment because that shouldn't take more than a couple of hours at most, and I assume you'll be taking over when I get back." He pushed. Jane at least at the capacity to blush at his keen ears

"I've got dinner with the girls, it's something we already planned so I'll be out most of the afternoon as well."

"So let me get this straight... you're making me cancel my plans to look after your nephew who you agreed to look after yet you're not cancelling any of your own or making my life even a little bit easier?" he began to raise his voice again. She was about to retort when they were interrupted by a frantic knock at the door. Jane shot her son a pleading look.

"Charlie I promise I'll return the favour just please help me out here. At least for Olly's sake..." Jane pleaded. Charlie huffed and rolled his eyes. He knew he wasn't going to win this argument, he might have had a shot had the bell not rung but he didn't want to fight in front of Linda and Olly. Out of most of his extended family this was the section he liked the most. Jane opened the door to see a small black haired boy with a teddy in one arm and his mothers in the other. Linda stood frazzled at the door but still managed to greet both Charlie and Jane with a sincere smile

"Jane thanks so much for taking Olly for a bit, you would not believe the absolute nightmare it's been at work. Stupid National Grid is causing me so many problems and I'm not even there yet." Linda moaned. Gently pushing Olly towards the two. Jane gently grabbed the boy and put an arm around him

"Oh it's no trouble at all, besides the boys love to spend time together am I right?" Jane answered, both as a response to Linda and as another plea to Charlie. The boy in question rolled his eyes again but quickly hit it behind a winning smile as he greeted the small boy

"That's right, and you and me are going to have so much fun today right Olly?" he asked bending down to Olly's height

"Charlie!" The 6 year old shouted running into Charlie's outstretched arms "Can we play Mario Kart!" he begged. Charlie smiled and lifted Olly up into his arms.

"Only if you're prepared to lose."

"You're the one whose going to lose, I've been practicing lots and lots" Olly argued back. As the boys walked off. Jane saw Linda out the door back towards her car.
