Live Selling”

"I told you it's not gonna work out."Akaira said then sighed.

I took the bottle of perfume on her and tries to open the camera but she stopped me.

"Ano ba, ate? Hindi na nga di ba?" and then she suddenly burst into tears. "We have so many competitions. We could never."

Hindi ko na tuloy napigilan ang sarili ko at nasampal ko siya. "Stop being so pessimist. We can do this." I said, trying to cheer her up but failed.

"This is all my fault. If only you could go out and find a more decent job, then we will never do this."she cried.

"Can you stop blaming yourself? Because I never did. We'll get through this. Kailangan lang natin mag-isip ng something unique...that will make us stand out to our competitors."then I stood and walked back and forth trying to think of what things should we sell.

I was stopped by the glitch I heard from our computer screen. It then turned black...then drops of red fill the screen. It's as if someone poured a blood all over it.

"What did you do?"I asked Akaira.

"I-I don't know! I was watching you!"she said, panicking.

The screen then showed a silhouette of a man. I don't know what's happening but my first thought was to contact the police. I immediately grabbed my phone but before I typed a number, we heard a low and distorted voice from the computer.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"Ate—"I instructed Akaira to shut up while I analyze everything.

"Who are you?"I asked, trying to see if it's some sort of a live call.

"I have no name. But I can help you with your problems."

I squinted my eyes. I have to think of a way to call the police. But how? If they know our situation, they probably set-up hidden cameras somewhere. I don't know.

"What do you want?"

"Work for me and I'll take care of everything."

My heart's beating so fast because I'm scared to death. These are probably people from underground organizations or whatever that does dirty things. And I can't let ourselves be involved in this.

"What if we don't want to?"I have to sound brave even though I'm scared myself. I don't want Akaira to see me scared even though I'm trembling so bad. I have to show her I can stand up for the both of us.

"You can't."and then it laughed which sent shivers from my spine. I knew it. I heard stories about this. Once they set their eyes on you, you can never go back. You'll fall on the rabbit hole.

"You wanted something unique to sell live, right? I watched your enthusiasm even though you thought no one's watching you. You hoped that someone would watch it and it came true. Because I did. I like how persevere and determined you two are, it's mesmerizing.

So I thought...maybe I could help you a little? And congrats you've got yourself a favor. Open the cabinet behind you."I looked at the cabinet behind me. There are few drops of red tint on the floor. It's not visible but if you look closely, you'll see it. It's as if someone worked hard to clean up the mess but still left some.

I'm scared because of the train of thoughts running through my head. It's not what I think it is...right?

"Akaira, promise ate you'll trust me."I said not looking at her. I don't want her to see me because I can't hide how afraid I am right now.

"What's happening?!"

"Promise me!"

"Okay, okay! Explain to me what this man is saying. Ate, what's happening?"

"Whatever happens, don't scream."

"Ate—"

"Akaira!"

She started crying again. "Okay! I won't!"

"I love the drama and suspense that's happening. We should've prepared some background music for this."the man behind the screen said. That made me clench my fists. What the fuck does he think this is? Entertainment?

I slowly walked and opened the cabinet and I almost screamed when someone stiff fell on me. I immediately push it away and it fell on the floor.

It looks like a woman in her early 20s wearing her school uniform.

And it's dead.

It's freaking dead.

I looked at Akaira who covers her mouth with her hands to prevent herself from screaming. She kept crying while looking at the body.

"Our clients love humans! They'll be more encouraged to buy if you tries to sell it."

"We're not gonna do this. Fuck you!"hindi ko na tuloy napigilan ang sarili ko. Hindi...hindi na to makatao. What in earth does he mean by their clients love humans?!

"Too late. Of course we know that somehow you'll want to back out kaya naman may plinano na kami. We already framed this murder to the both of you. So if you're not able to sell "everything", then you'll be convicted. I'm sure ayaw niyong humimas ng rehas, lalo na ang kapatid mo?"

I clenched my fists. Damn it. Damn this!

"W-what do you want us to do?"

"Ate—"

"Shut the fuck up, Akaira."

The man chuckled. "Go on to a live and sell parts of this woman. I'll give you five days or we'll send all the "evidences" to the police. You have to dispose the body by means of selling them to people. That's why you have to do your best."

"Screw you!"

"I really love these games. Your reactions just inspire me to do this more often. Anyway, you're timer starts now."and then the screen turned into black again.

A silence envelope the whole room for a while before Akaira broke it. "A-Ate...anong gagawin mo?"she managed to ask while still shaking.

I breathe out heavily. "Open the camera. We're going to live sell."
