The class was dismissed during lunch hour And I waited for everyone to leave for the cafeteria. I didn't know why, I just did. I stood up to leave as well, I then noticed Gorge was still sleeping. What's up with this guy? Is it like a condition or something? "Gorge" I called with no response "Gorge" Due to how quiet the class was, anyone would hear the drop of a pin so there was no way, he would way he didn't hear me. He probably just doesn't want to answer. I guess he wasn't hungry. We got Maths Class after this. One has to be well fed for maths class but I guess his case was different since he never pays attention in class anyway "Gorge" I walked closer to him and tapped his back slightly
"Hmmm. Mmm" he mumbled in his sleep
"Gorge, wake up"
"What is it?" asked in that sleepy tone, still in his sleeping position
"It is lunchtime" After a while of silence. I heard movement. I watched him sit up. He lifts his head to look at me with does sleepy gaze "Aren't you hungry?"
"Naa" shakes his head, then looked away from me so he would bend to the side of his seat to get his bag packed "My mother..." he began while searching the bag "Believes that it is safer to eat food.... from home" he brought out a blue lunch box then look at me once again and gave me that smile "She lacks trust in the school food"
"That is very sweet of her," I thought out loud and wondered what his mother looked like. Surely, she would be a very beautiful woman to have such a handsome son. "So she wakes up to pack lunch for you?" I asked curiously
"Not often. She is always busy at work so the maids does it... But whenever she is home, she tries to pack it for me" I smiled at the mum's boy in front of me "And I like it.... it saves me the stress of going to the cafeteria ?" Giving me that frustrated look "It is too far" he whined.
"You are a funny guy"
"And a handsome one too" he added with both hands on his cheeks, acting all cute. I laughed at his silly act
"Well, I have a strong system and do not mind if the food is safe or not... I have to eat" With that I left the mum's boy to his lunch
"Hurry back" he yelled after me.
From a distance, I heard the noise coming from the cafeteria. And the smell of food filled the air. As I reached the entrance, the moment I stepped in, the place went silent. My eyes explored the large hall filled with students who were once charting and laughing. Now they all carried this puzzled and irritated look. Perhaps they were wondering what I was doing there. Wondering if I truly intended to sit among them and eat. As usual, they will say that I am polluting the environment.
I walked to get a tray, walking past students to go get my food, they all made way for me, more like moved away so that they wouldn't contact whatever disease I carried on me. I didn't mind, thank goodness, I would get food on time. I was served food, enough food. I stood in the middle of the hall, wondering where to sit. I noticed that they all didn't want me to sit with them and I also didn't have interest in sitting with them either, if only they knew. I wasn't interested in talking to them or hearing whatever they had to say, I didn't like them as much as they didn't like me if only they would get that in that stupid brain of theirs. Then we would leave in peace with everyone minding their own business.
I made my way to the empty table at the far end of the room. A perfect spot to be alone, away from them. The Table looked dusty, it seemed like no one seats there. I took out my handkerchief and cleaned the table and the chair. Then placed my tray on the table and began to eat. Rice and fries, Damn, it tasted good. Surely it had to taste good, after all. Students paid lots of money for this food. "hmm" a low gasp escaped my lips due to its delicious taste "This is good" I spoke under my breath. I noticed the Cafeteria was still silent and felt all eyes on me. Their stares were like knives stabbing my flesh, only that I do not bleed, I can't let myself bleed. They can stare all they want, after all, they have all the time in the world, but I do not. I have to finish eating and get to class, still have a lot to cover. I suddenly felt a familiar presence above me.
