An hour later, we were driving to Alex's place, as I couldn't stand seeing my father right now and didn't have the strength to tell Lucas anything as this was a family issue. My Aunt's place was best to stay away. I had left Abigail with Maya and told her to call me if anything came up.
'' are you going to tell me now?'' Bianca asked impatiently
'' ammm'' where do I start? '' What should I tell you?''
'' That question just proved that there is a lot I don't know'' She frowned '' Everything if possible''
'' emm, ok'' I thought of the risk I was about to take by telling Bianca this. Father believes that women are weak and can not be trusted even his own daughter which is why only the male heir of the family is allowed to know. More like I found out on my own and he took it as an opportunity to tell me everything. Since I would be the one to run the company soon, it best if I knew its background. '' it started with grandfather, the year the company was established. There were four of them who came together to start the construction company. Back then Max City was nothing, according to what Father said.....'' bit by bit I told her all that I knew and when I was done. Bianca had turned pale. Scared and lost in thoughts. She had her eyes focused out the window for over 30 minutes. I had reached Alex's place but stopped before reaching the gate. I needed to make sure Bianca was ok to avoid being asked too many questions when we entered the house. '' Bianca?'' I called in a low tone, reaching for her hand, the moment I touched her, he drew her hands away
'' hhh'' Bianca turns to look at me. Her eyes had a mixture of confusion and shock. '' so... so our family's power and wealth is built on people's blood?''
'' Bianca, this secret has been with me forever and I am supposed to die with it. You knowing this is....''
'' makes me a threat?'' She finished, taking me by surprise '' Is that what you think?''
'' No, that is what father thinks'' I seat back and tried to relax but I couldn't relax. Not with all this going on. We fell into silence for a long while
''Whenever father spoke about getting rid of threat I had always thought of something far from murdering. I knew he was capable of hurting people, ruining lives but never to this extent'' she spoke still in denial '' what does Maria have to do with all this?''
'' The fire incident in the oil factory was actually the fault of the heads of the company. But to cover up for their flaws they blamed it on the employees involved in the building of the factory and fired them all.... Among them was Eduardo Alexander... Maria's father''
'' Fuck'' Bianca whispers
''Somehow, Maria's father got to find out about the truth and more. He threatened the company, he threatened his father. Father had to...''
'' get rid of him, like he gets rid of every threat...'' she looks at me with a frown '' And you knew about this while dating her, you knew what father had done''
'' I didn't know, not until two weeks ago'' I defended
'' And Maria Knows... knows that...'' Bianca looked away, holding back her anger '' This is fucked, Logan''
'' she knows about her father and about the incident...''
'' about the incident?''
'' Yes, how it happened and how it was covered up and how Father got rid of the families who didn't want to give up on the fight... Maria knows it all and Father is not going to let her go''
'' How did she find out'' Bianca turns to me '' How did she know?''
'' I don't know.'' placing but hands on the steering. I rested my head, closing my eyes to think. '' I have no idea how she got to find out and why she hasn't said anything.... I wonder if she is indeed waiting for the right time to act'' This was probably what contributed to her anger that night I told her about Gorge. But she came back. Despite knowing everything she came back. Why? Is she waiting for the right time to act? Maria is not that kind of person. I want to believe but I don't know what to believe any more.
