Chapter 57

All night, I Couldn't get my mind off Maria. Our last conversation outside the police station kept playing in my head like a movie. What would have happened between us if I had let her go, if I hadn't held on to her? '' Logan'' Bianca bust into my room very early in the morning, yelling my name afterwards.

'' What is it Bianca'' I rolled out of bed to a seating position facing her while she stood about 5 feet away from me, still in her night dress, with arms crossed.

'' Do you have feelings for Maria?'' Throwing me off guard and almost throwing me out of bed with that question, what the fuck? Why would she suddenly ask that very early in the morning?

'' What!!!?''

'' Do you have feelings for, Maria?'' she repeated, taking two steps forward with an emphasis on the name and seriousness written on her face, her body posture and her tone smelt of it.

'' Why all of a sudden?''

'' I have been thinking about it all night... you settled with Maya just so you would pay for Maria's Mother's surgery, you kissed her, twice, suddenly wanted a truce and you even wanted to drive her to the bus stop Last night, not to forget your sudden outburst'' She analysed very quickly '' So tell me, do you have feelings for her?''

'' I .....'' I froze, do I have feelings for her? Is that what all this is? That can't be right, I can't have feelings for Maria.

'' Wow... You can't even deny it'' shaking her head in disbelieve

'' Bianca, stop saying nonsense and leave. It is too early for this'' I frowned at her and she smiled

'' This is perfect''

'' Pardon?'' I fell off the train

'' The thought of it at first made me angry but as I kept rethinking, it is a good thing you know... with you and Maria together means she is mine forever'' Bianca spoke with so much excitement

'' Hey'' I yelled '' Shut the fuck up'' trying to put an end to the topic as it made me feel jelly inside

'' I will help you win Maria'' she gave a creepy smile

'' that is never happening Bianca,'' I stood up '' Stop the nonsense and get out'' I walked up to her, with hands on her shoulder, I turned her around, leading her out of my room

''Deny it all you want, I know you well Logan'' she says quickly '' You will finally give in'' I opened the door and pushed her out, just as I was about to close the door, she held me back '' Maria will be here soon, you should say hi''

'' Get lost Bianca'' I shut the door so hard and certain I alerted the workers. Is she crazy? Me, have feelings for Maria, that is insane.

I was at the gym going a few laps when I heard the sound of someone entering. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the conversation Bianca would start once again '' Bianca, I don't want any more of that talk''

'' It's not Bianca'' The sound of that voice almost had me frozen in place. Immediately, I stood up to face her. Standing before me, holding a mop and a bucket, her hair in a ponytail as usual.

'' Hi,'' I forced a smile, not knowing what to say to her. It was the first time, Maria and I crossed part in a gym.

'' amm.. hi, it's Sunday'' she said

'' What?''

'' it's Sunday, I am supposed to clean the gym'' She explained

'' Oh...'' I looked around ''Yeah you should''

'' I will come back when you are....''

'' No wait I cut her off '' You should stay, I am almost done''

'' oh.. ok'' Maria walked towards me, about to walk past me and I caught her arm stopping her in track. she lifted her head to look at me, confused '' What is it?''

'' ammm... about last night... are you still mad'' Just to be sure we are good.

'' Logan'' she called '' I wasn't mad at you, just frustrated about the whole situation last night that is all'' she explained

'' oh, I see'' I held myself back from smiling while I released her arm

'' and'' she hesitated as we made eye contact, '' I feared that your father would find out'' I went speechless, did she just say to me that she cared for me? Oh lord of the heavens

'' You...'' not able to hold back my smile '' You were worried about me?'' Immediately, Maria broke eye contact, looking away from me. Is that why she said I shouldn't get involved in her life?

'' Yes, I was... and I have every right to. I don't want to be the reason he hurts you again Logan''

'' Oh... that is...''

'' I should get back to work'' She informs

'' yeah you should'' Maria left me and got to work. I stood watching her every move. I couldn't get back to work out due to the distraction of her presence. I had to leave so she wouldn't catch me staring.

When I reached my room, the first thing I noticed was the juice box on my table. Maria must have left it there before going to the gym. Like she promised, it was a token of our friendship.

With a bright mood all day. I lay in bed, wondering when Maria would come to clean my room so I could talk to her. It would be weird if I go see her and I didn't want to ask for coffee since she already had a lot to do today. And we only just became friends, I asked for her to be my friend not to be her stalker. My phone then rang, interrupting my thoughts. I took out my phone and frowned at the name on the screen. Lucas.

'' What do you want?''

'' I found him'' he announced excitedly

'' What?'' Trying to figure out who we were talking about here.

'' I found the Mysterious G'' he said and I jumped to a seating position.

'' Fuck, it took you long enough''

'' Dude, you wouldn't believe who it is'' I Waited for him to give me a name '' Gorge'' he says

'' Gorge?'' Who is Gorge?

'' Gorge, our department, Maria's desk mate, the department's weirdo''

'' You got to be kidding me right now''

'' Exactly what I said'' he says '' It turns out, he got hidden cameras at every corner of the school and has been monitoring every single activity''

the room went silent while I thought for a long time about what to do next. Gorge family are very important personnels and highly valued by our company. Any rough decision will result in a terrible risk, one that I must not take. But I have to do something and be careful about it.

'' Logan'' Lucas called with a sudden change in his tone

'' He just uploaded a new one on the school media, you got to see it now'' I ended the call almost immediately. Checking the school media and speechless by the content of the video.
