LOGAN'S POV
Bianca and I had just finished working out at the gym. She lay flat on the ground panting, trying to find her breath. I smiled and then walked to stand over her. Looking at the beautiful angel on the ground. '' You will never go easy on me would you? '' she says calmly
'' Nope, not a chance '' I offered my hand and she took it almost immediately, I then pulled her up, to a standing position
'' How are you feeling anyway '' she asked, worried and I instantly frowned, knowing what she was asking about
'' Bianca, will you stop asking me how I am feeling.. it is an unsettling thing to talk about '' she gave that mocking smile
'' Why?.. are you embarrassed ?'' she wiggled her eyebrow
'' I hate you '' walking away but she followed behind me.
'' the principal would surely call you to the office today'' she began '' Are you going to expel her?'' An important question. Getting her expelled and making sure she doesn't gain admission into any other school would have been my normal punishment but, I remembered Maria's words. After all that is the best you can do with all your power.
'' No... I wouldn't get to play with her if I get her expelled''
'' Logan '' Bianca's warning tone '' what are you planning?''
''There are other ways to punish one and make beg Bianca...'' I smiled and Bianca rolled her eyes
'' Just whatever you do, know your limit, I don't want her to hate me'' I frowned
'' Don't tell me you still want to make friends with her''
'' I do.. but someone is making it very difficult''
'' Of all people Bianca, why go for her'' trying to contain my anger
'' Because there is no other who would their to kick you in the nuts'' I pause at my track and she busts into laughter'' Now that I think about it, it's funny'' My anger vanished and was replaced with embarrassment
'' Come here'' using my hand to gesture for me to come and she began running '' stop right there'' I went after her
I called the kitchen for my coffee as I entered the room. It was all cleaned up and this time, the cleaner did not temper with my things. It was obvious she touched them to clean up but she made sure to put them at the same spot. Finally, someone who works to my liking. I took the shower and when I came out, I saw that my coffee was already brought in. I quickly got dressed for school. I grabbed the coffee mug and walked to the window, it has become a habit of mine to watch the city every morning, my city. I looked down at my coffee and the first thing I noticed was the design on the top '' Leaf?'' with an eyebrow raised, this obviously wasn't Ava's doing. I took a sip from it and paused, instantly that perfect, taste hit me. A sweetness and a bitter aftertaste. It was the taste that I had been looking for. I didn't know how to describe it, but it satisfied my need and I didn't know when I finished it. Ava returned a few minutes later to take the mug
'' you didn't make that coffee, did you? '' I asked, not looking her way. With eyes focused outside
'' si....No sir '' she replied honestly
'' Who did?''
'' One of the new girls that came in for screening ''
'' was she the one who cleaned this room?''
'' that.. I am not aware of sir '' I nodded in understanding
'' Ok '' With that she left. Immediately I got a text from Bianca asking if I was ready and we agreed to leave in 15 minutes.
As we drove toward the already-opened gate I spotted a girl running out. I couldn't see her face but she looked familiar, too familiar '' Is that not Maria?'' Bianca asked, curiously
'' Does that question even make sense '' rolled my eyes at the thought of Maria and our kiss. Fuck
'' Yeah, you are right. Why would she be here '' whispered under her breath
'' You sound disappointed ''
'' Because I am '' her words made me frown
'' Hey...''
'' what''
'' don't you dare be friends with her '' I warned
'' that is my business, not yours'' she rolled her eyes and looked out the window as we drove quietly to school
MARIA'S POV
Flashback to the Max Family mansion
It happened like magic. I was praised by Miss Abigail for my good work but told that they couldn't give me the job because I was a high school student and may use that as an excuse to slack off. Suddenly I got called to Madam Maya's office. The woman of the house. She had beautiful well well-maintained, brown hair. Her eyes were forest green and they carried so much love and affection in them. She had fair perfect skin and from her sitting posture and the way she spoke to me. You can feel the power coming from her. I noticed one thing, her smile was so warm and welcoming but held sadness behind it.
'' You are Maria?'' she said
'' Yes ma'am ''
'' I went through your papers '' she nods '' and I see you have worked a lot of part-time jobs''
'' Yes I have ''
'' And you still go to school? ''
'' Yes '' she gave an amazed expression
'' I heard you made the coffee today '' she said and I blinked in confusion. What does coffee have to do with this?
'' aaaa... yes I did ''
'' Where did you learn how to ''
'' I used to work at a coffee shop... I have a habit of picking up new skills wherever I end up '' smiled
'' I see. '' she looked at Abigail who was standing right next to her seat and she nodded '' I shouldn't be giving this job to a high school student but... My son happens to enjoy one's coffee for the first time and he didn't complain about your cleaning job so '' she smiled '' You got the job ''
'' wait.. really? '' Overwhelmed with joy but as always, I kept it inside
'' here is the contract '' Abigail placed a piece of paper on the table in front of me. The contract had so many rules but the pay was worth it. I get paid 15 dollars a week, to come as early as 5 am. do the necessary job and leave by 6:40 am then return my 4 pm after school and stay till 8 pm then I come on Sundays by 5 am and leave by 2 pm.
Back to reality
I got the job all because the young master loved my Coffee. I thought to myself as I swept the schoolyard as a result of coming late. I don't care who the young master is or what kind of person Lara said he is. In My eyes, he is an angel sent by God to come to my aid. I wish I could get to see him in school and say Hi even if he responds rudely, it doesn't matter.
