On our way back from Game City, I felt glad that I took Malisa there. Seeing that smile on her face, I couldn't help myself smiling as well.
'' So are we going again?'' she asked while walking backwards so she could face me
'' Look at where you are going Malisa '' I warned and with a cute frown, she turned around
'' Are we going again?'' asking that same question
'' Yes we are and with mum this time ''
'' That will be nice '' grins. How can she be so cute when we both came out of the same belly? My ringing phone interrupted my thoughts. I took it out to see Lara's call. Strange, she never calls. I took the call
'' Hello ?''
'' Hey, hey Maria guess what? '' she went straight to the point in excitement
'' What?''
'' You know the place I used to work before?''
'' Hmm '' reluctantly
'' They are hiring part-timers '' I stopped at my track, Malisa noticed and stopped as well
'' What is it?'' she asked with worries in her tone
'' Are you serious? ''
'' Maria, I wouldn't joke about things like this to you ''
'' Oh my god.. how do I apply ?''
'' I will send you a link but first... '' she pauses
'' What/ '' rolling my eyes
'' You owe me for this '' I could sense the smile in her tone as she spoke
'' Got it '' I ended the call
'' What is it? '' Malisa who was still curious
'' I found another part-time job '' with that I began walking and she followed behind me
'' Again.. don't you get tired '' I ignored
The next morning I woke up by 5 am and left the house to go for the job screening. The Mansion where Lara once worked was the home of the Max family, the lords of Max City. I took the taxi there so I wouldn't be late, wondering to myself why they had to do a screening so early in the morning.
I arrived at the gate to the mansion, paid the taxi driver and got out '' wow '' a gasp of amazement escaped my lips as I took in the beauty of the place. The rich really know how to live the life. I pressed the button on the wall, ringing the alarm to call attention to my arrival and a male voice suddenly spoke '' Identification please ''
'' Oh amm.. My name is Maria Eduardo... I am here for the job screening ''
'' Wait a few seconds please '' he said and I stood quietly. The Gate suddenly rolled open for me to enter and I did. It was a mile walk to the Main building and on my way, I greeted the gardener. A middle-aged man who had a great smile. The moment I reached the massive door I saw a woman standing there. She wore a sky-blue shirt and a black kneel-level shirt. Her honey-blond hair was packed in a neat bun, her light brown eyes scanned me from head to toe and I smiled the moment we made eye contact.
'' You are five minutes late '' She carried a blank expression
'' My apologies. I have no excuse '' I drop my head in guilt
'' Follow me '' she pushed the door open and entered while I followed behind her. Damn. The house exceeded my expectations. It felt like a luxurious hotel on the inside with so much furniture in gold colour or it could possibly be gold, I wouldn't know. This was the kind of place one would come to and say to themselves. ' I have been leaving a lie '
