She walks into that familiar coffee shoe which is 5 blocks away from her apartment block. It has been 2 years since she moved to California with her sister who would be graduating from medicine school in a few weeks. Maria made her way to the reception and smiled at that familiar blond hair and deep blue eyes Grace.

    '' Hi''

'' I haven't seen you in months, guess you had to travel for a job'' curiosity in her eyes

'' Yeah. I just finalized the job and got back yesterday. I am taking a day off to celebrate..''

'' I see'' she smiled brightly '' So... the usual?''

'' No... something sweat to start the day... It feels like it's going to be a good day today''

'' Ok then, I know just what you need'' she turned around and began to work her magic while Maria watched her every move. As Maria watched, her mind drifted to her latest job, the construction of a mall. It was one of Maria's biggest contracts as an architect and it had been a huge headache from the design process to the construction on site. Maria followed the process every step of the way, being away from home for weeks. It is finally over and her remaining pay was sent in yesterday.

Tonight, Malisa would be returning for the weekend and they would celebrate. The thought of Malisa made her smile. Her cute, smart sister was able to get admission into one of the best universities in the state and Maria has worked really hard, alongside her mother to get the three of them where they are today. A first class medical student and a successful Architect and our mother, who runs a small restaurant back home. Life had turned out better than she thought. Life had turned out great for them, for her. Though there were things that she could never move away from, things that haunted her everyday life to this day, both good and bad. But Maria had learnt to accept it. Accept it as part of her, part of what made her what she was, part of her story, a story to tell someday.

'' Here you go, a cup of Mocha, to start your day" Grace smiled as she placed the to-go cup on the counter for Maria

'' thank you very much'' Maria reached for it and offered her card for the payment, Graced handed her back the card when done '' when would your shift be over...''

    ''6 pm, why''

'' You should come over, Malisa is coming home today''

'' Really....'' excitement in her tone

'' We are having a little feast'' I whispered while leaning forward '' And it would be just two of us, you should come''

'' I will come early to help you cook''

'' I would love that'' she nods. The door behind her suddenly opened and a man walked in, Maria knew it was time to leave, giving Grace space to attend to a new customer. '' See you at 6''

'' Have a lovely day'' she wished Maria who only smiled in response. Maria turns around, returning her card to her bag. She paused at her track as a pair of, black snickers stopped in front of her. Maria lifts her head to apologize for standing in the way only for her heart to stop at the sight of the person in front of her. Those familiar dreamy electric blue eyes stared deep into her hazel ones in as much shock as she was in. Unable to take her eyes away from his, she had forgotten to breathe, and when her heart came back to life, it raced beyond control. Beating like it would break fear from her chest.

'' M....Maria'' her name rolled out of his lips in a familiar whisper, one that set pain in her heart, drowning her in mixed emotions. Joy, pain, excitement. Regret. Confusion. All came rushing in. It has been so long. But never once had she forgotten him, forgotten those eyes, his voice. so long that she thought she had gotten over those feelings even if she didn't forget him. But here she was, standing speechlessly in front of him, with no idea how and what led to them being here at this moment.

'' Logan'' she finally found her breath and her voice '' h...hi'' came out weak. The door opened again, announcing the arrival of another customer. From his side, a lady revealed herself but she didn't walk by like Maria expected, she stood by Logan. She was tall, 5 feet 11 in height which reminded her of Bianca, she had wavy long honey-brown hair, bright hazel brown eyes, and her perfect hips on display as she leaned closer to Logan and her hand travelled around his arm. She smiled

''Sorry for keeping you waiting baby boo'' Her words hit Maria in a way she didn't expect. Baby boo? But Logan's attention didn't leave Maria for even a second. The lady noticed and looked in the direction to see Maria. She raised an eyebrow in confusion '' Mmmm... do you know her'' She looked back at Logan but Logan didn't reply. The room fell into a deep silence which had the girl off a bit '' I am guessing you know each other from the silent, stares...'' she flipped her hair to the back, displaying her, her neat, perfect-length blue nails. '' hi'' she offered her hand... '' I am Margaret... Grayson's Fiance'' Grayson? Fiance? A bubble hit Maria. Her gaze left the lady to Logan. For the first time, his gaze dropped to the floor. Though Maria was going through mixed feelings and the thought of Logan having a fiance hurt her, but she felt joy, joy to know that all was well with him as well and it made her smile, smile brightly, beyond her control

'' Hi'' she takes the lady's hand '' I am Maria, it's a pleasure meeting you, Margaret.... Grayson's fiance''
