I stretched and rolled over to the cool side of the bed. An incredible bright stray band of warm evening light peaked through the window and shone in my eyes. I moved back to where I waas before, but now that I was awake no matter where I turned, it bugged me.

After getting tired of the light, I shot up with a growl in my throat. I got up to see Jason sleeping soundly in his bed. Of course, not a band of light to be seen. Sitting crisscrossed on the bed, I stretched my arms up and lifted the edge of the curtain. The sky was orange and the sun was quickly on its way to setting.

"Oh no!" I said in between a yawn. I was still sleepy. "Jason...wake up! We're going to be laaaate."

I nudged him with my foot, or more toe, my legs weren't that long. I had no desire to get up off the bed just yet, so in order to wake him up, I had to reach my leg out. He still didn't budge, but granted my toe barely touched him. "Wake up or I'm leaving you here."

Jason and I had this terrible codependency on the chances that we ever shared rooms. Both of us had the tendency to oversleep because the other had to get up first. Usually he got up first, and I admit, it was possibly because he was a smidge more mature than me.

He had told me before, once upon a time: I liked to feast on the misery of others. And although I didn't agree with him then, he was right. But not today- I was going to start the day off right. My way of course.

I got up and dressed behind the room divider. I paired a pink cropped puff sleeve sweater with a floral skirt that fell just below my knees with my trusty boots. I knew it was slightly chilly outside but I was much lazy to dig a warmer outfit especially when I knew I was rocking the cutesy outfit. My bags were still unpacked, and if my luck were to track, the warmest fit would be at the bottom.

Jason and I hadn't received a uniform just yet, but that was fine by me. I didn't like uniforms. Uniforms were...uniforms. Jason didn't care, but me? You could catch me dead before I was a participant in anything that reminded me of some hive mind.

And I had cute outfits! The cutest sweaters and skirts and shoes. What a shame it would be for others to be deprived of my taste in fashion.

I peeked out the door to see the Night Class still bustling around, but there were only a few of them who looked ready to leave, so I decided to go back and make my bed. When I was finished I took my largest, fluffiest pillow and started swinging, "Jason! GET! UP!"

After I hit him a good 22 times, he finally grabbed the pillow and groaned, "I'm up, Megumi!"

"Megumi!" I mimicked in a girly voice and smoothed my hair down as I walked away. I slung the pillow behind my back, "You don't get to act like a victim. How dare you make me the responsible one. Get it together. I'm heading out. You're on your own."

I closed the door and  tapped my fingers on my arm. All the Night class students were leaving and Jason was still changing. I leaned on the door to find support... but I didn't find the door, but rather Jason.

He held me close, dressed and seemingly already ready for the night, however, his bed head had not been combed out. Honestly, I didn't even know if he packed his hair brush.

"You're so pleasant in the morning, Rose," He shot sarcastically as I stretched my neck up to look up at him standing behind me. "Like a-shot-to-the-foot kind of pleasant. Also, are you wearing something new? This particular scent is really ni-" I popped a blood tablet in his mouth randomly and he started coughing at the sudden solid that lodged in his throat and moved away quickly and brushed my hair over my shoulder.

"More of that talk and I'll cut you." I  threatened and shook the box of tablets the Chairman had given to me before we left. I'd notified the Chairman that Jason had his own, but he insisted I take some with me anyway.
