Bewitched in a Dream

There was no moon tonight, but everything was brightly lit and merry.

I beckon Zero to join, but he stayed put next to Kaname. Funny how it worked that way. Jason and I were left on our own accord, dancing to the music along with other people in the square. We did random stuff like the Charleston, the bow tie and the sweetheart. Just random stuff. But it was still fun.

The night blurred by and somehow, after a mirror fun house, visiting the mini-circus, playing rounds of balloon dart and edging Jason to go to a kissing booth, we went to get food. For me of course- as if they were hungry for food. Food for them was a luxury- for example my pie.

But pie tasted so much better when not made by me. Running over to the booth, I saw the other half of our group. "Ah!" I shouted loudly and pointed at them. They looked over in surprise, their conversation stopping. A friendly smile broke out on their faces and I ran to them, "Guys! What did you guys do? How did you find each other? It isn't fair!"

"We just met up. No worries. You didn't miss anything."

"I thought you guys didn't eat." I placed my hands on the table, feeling the other three guys walk up behind me. Takuma shrugged, "Senri said that they should try the food. Since it's not everyday, just once." I looked over to Ruka and she shrugged, "Don't look at me, Hanabusa saw apple pie and dragged us along."

I laughed and slid into the seats next to the others, feeling content and happy. "Funnnnn birthday." I said, "We should go to the mall after this."

"Too many people." Zero frowned, sitting at another table rather than squish with us. But then again, I kind of understood. "Come on. Imagine all the muscles you'll get from carrying my gifts. I don't indulge myself often, you know."

"Pfft, yeah you do." Jason laughed.

I rolled my eyes, "I indulge myself with my friends. I'm not too materialistic, I like to believe." Jason didn't have anything to say to that. I shrugged with a happy laugh- Rima and Ruka were definitely with me, "Let's ditch the circus."

"As the Queen insists." Kaname was the first to get up.

I was in the changing room, Jason stood outside as the others left. "Hey, Jason?" I asked, "Would you ever fall in love?"

"With you around all the time? I don't think so." He laughed. I smiled at the sound, pulling down a coral sweater. "I think..." I started, "If I ever saw Jason in love, I don't know what I would do."

"It would depend." Jason laughed, "Do you want me to?"

"Stop asking such weird questions." I retorted ironically. He chuckled, "You're the one to point fingers. We'll save that question for another day. How about I ask you this-" He paused for effect, "Wouldn't you want to stay like this forever?"

I leaned myself back against the door, feeling as if Jason was doing the same. "I for one would never want this to change."

"Would you want to stay like this forever?"

I paused, my eyebrows knit together. "I don't understand. I don't know what you mean by that." Turning, I opened the door, twirling around, I posed, "Cute sweater, huh?"

"Matches your complexion beautifully." He said dryly with a smile. I rolled my eyes, and pushed him back out the door. Turning around, I saw his reflection in the mirror to be that of an old ladies. Closing the door quickly, my heart dropped.

What was that?"

"What do you mean?" Jason asked outside the door, sounding just like the Jason I knew. "What?" I said, taking a seat, sitting down. "It was just my imagination." I said, "I thought something was crawling on my arm."
