Jason and I sat on the bed sharing pocky sticks.
"So tell me," he said.
"No," I said, "I'd rather not complain,"
"It's not complaining when it's me," Jason said.
"Yeah it is," I said, "Anyways, tell me about how much you missed me,"
"I missed you a lot," he said, "Now tell me how much you missed me,"
"A lot more than you," I said, punching him in the arm, "Good god, you do not know how hard it is to turn from human to pureblood. There's so much responsibility,"
"Couldn't imagine, I've always been in between," He said. I leaned against him, "Jason, it hurt me when I turned around with an apple pie and called out your name,"
He put a warm arm around me and I sighed, "It took me a long time to realize that you weren't there,"
"Me too," Jason said.
"Can I tell you something?" I asked.
"Anything," Jason said.
"You remember how Kaname use to tell me how close he held me?" I snuggled under the blanket.
"Yeah,"
"Well, I think...."
"You think you're starting to like him...but you're trying not to for Yuki's sake," He said.
I turned to look at him, "Yeah,"
"And since you won't talk about it, I will," Jason said, tightening his grip on me, "You had this responsibility of being a pureblood and you wanted to protect your friends. That's a lot, Rose. Never think that we are incapable. You fought along side us, you more than anyone should know. Just be who you are. Seriously, just be who you are, be ignorant if you have to,"
"But Jason," I said, "I was who I was because I wasn't ignorant. I didn't pretend to not see it. I didn't pretend. I can't stay ignorant knowing that there's something that I can do. Something so much more,"
"Start small," Jason said, "I can see it. You're scared that you've killed your human state of mind and you try to act like you want it gone. But she's still here with us. You just need to nurse her back to health,"
I looked at Jason for a long time. "Jason," I said, "Why are you such a genius?"
"I can't help it. I was born that way," Jason laughed.
"Whatever," I said. As I opened my mouth to say something else, there was a knock on the door.
"Rose? Lord Kaname wants to see you," Ruka said, her voice more rough than her sweet state. I jumped out of bed, "What? Did I get in trouble again?"
"Well, in fact, yes. Leaving the building like that might be the issue," she informed.
I grimaced, "Oh, right, I forgot. But haven't I left before? It's just become something like tea time, now a days,"
~
"You wanted to see me?" I asked sliding on the table towards him.
Kaname didn't look up from his work, "You seem to be in a pretty good mood,"
I nodded, "Yep, Jason and I were having a talk. Mainly about you you know but, other than that, it was about how much we missed each other,"
Kaname stopped and looked up at me, "About me?"
"Yep," I popped my p's, obviously in a good mood.
"So," Kaname said, his voice was slightly annoyed, "That's wonderful," he knew I wasn't about to just tell him.
