~Jason's POV~
I was sleeping until I heard Rose get up on her bed. Was she planning to sneak off again? I looked up and noticed that no light shone through the window so it probably wasn't much time that we had been sleeping.
I suddenly smelled tears. I turned to see her sitting up, her hands mashed against her face, fruitlessly trying to get the tears off her face.
"Rose! What's wrong?" I said going over to her, worried at what might have happened, "What did you dream about?"
She hasn't cried like this in years, last time was when....I'm not exactly sure when but... I put my hand around her shoulder and pull her in.
"I-I had a dream," she said collecting her breath so her voice doesn't break and tried to wipe off her tears,"about the last time I saw my birth parents alive."
I was speechless, just like earlier. I've been through many many situations with her and in less then 24 hours she's made me past speechless and useless.
I was her friend, I was suppose to comfort her in times like this but I didn't know what to say.
"It's okay, Rose. It was a dream...just a dream. I'm here now." I said as she laid her head on me.
"Jason, I-I was in the backyard and running along happily with all the care in the world...like an idiot." she said angrily to herself.
"Rose don't say that. Your parents saw your happy face in their last hour." I said hoping that wasn't the wrong thing to say. Because there were a lot of wrong things to say.
"I know but...my parents died that night because of a tiny cut I made on my hand. Such tiny thing can result in the undeserving, devastating deaths of 2 loving parents," Rose said rubbing her palm, then stopped.
Her eyes brightened and said, "Watch this..." she suddenly pulled out from no where a silver rose.
I sweatdropped, she was crying just now. So she learned a magic trick?
"My mother made this out of the petals I ripped off a rose and threw into the pond. I was fascinated at the color the roses turned when you saw it through water so she made this un breakable weapon. I'm not sure how it's a weapon though," she said staring at it curiously with wet eyelashes and slightly red nose.
"H-how come you tell me this now? If you've always had this then why did you keep this away from me?" I wondered how she pulled it out of no where like she had always had it in her hand and I've just never seen it.
"My mother said that it will always be with me when I want it to so I guess I forgot about it when they..." she didn't finish and really didn't need to.
"That's great, Rose. Go to bed." As I got up to leave she tugged onto my shirt. "Stay here until I fall asleep," she said, I smiled, she acts like she's alright but this is the advantage of being her friend, she shows you her vulnerability.
I stayed there and cuddled her until she fell asleep. When she fell asleep my worry adrenaline wore off and I could smell her blood.
Her blood was becoming more alluring as the seconds passed. I haven't gotten this spellbound to the scent since we left home and entered this school. She was asleep and helpless in my arms and I was hungry and tempted.
Her pale neck was just right there. I was so close to her, her blood alluring and always eluding vampires. Being her friend aloud me to come this close, so what makes me hold back? It's as if she wanted to bait me, asking for me to stay.
I bent down and licked her neck. I felt my fangs slide out and, "Jason,"
Kaname had come in the room.
