Free Ice Cream?

~Hanabusa's POV~

Rose and her scary whip made its way to the center of the field waiting for me to catch up. She hopped up and down, ready to kick butt. I didn't know what I would do if she beat me again. I would be mortified. No, I would

die in shame.

She was good, I will admit that, so I didn't have anything to be ashamed about. I was in the middle of trying to convince myself that she was good but not good enough to beat me twice when I saw her flex her wrist with the bandage. She was wounded, so it wouldn't be a fair fight technically.

Last time she beat me, I was angry. I had my head this time so maybe it was different.

Even though I lost, I found respect in that for some reason. I thought back to her skills and realize I would never compete with 10 years of training with just my ice. I think I needed to work out more.

~Rose's POV~

"Rose, don't forget your not trying to kil- maim anyone okay?" Jason yelled across the field. I rolled my eyes and said, "I know that already! It's not like I want to hurt any of my friends."

I put my whip in my pocket and held Sterling in my hand. I look over and see Kaname walking over with Yuki and Zero - Who trailed far behind- had hands in his pockets, looking especially upset at this task.

"Zero! You came to see me fight! I'm going to kick Hanabusa's butt! Again!" I said half laughing.

"What! You haven't even fought with me yet! I swear, this one is gonna be good fight, I promise." he argued. Zero smiled slightly when he saw Jason and I. We started running towards him and Zero met us halfway, slightly ahead of a faintly blushing Yuki and a smiling Kaname.

"Zero! I'm going to fight and beat the vampires for you!....Well, for you and me both." I re-phrased. I definitely kicked vampire butt for myself. "That's great Rose. We came to make sure a real fight doesn't break out." He said, almost in a bored tone, almost as if he could care less to be here. Winking at him, I turned my back to him, "You may be of use then." 

Zero smiled and I looked at Jason, "Got Aeternum? Pass her to me only if I need her, please. I want to see how long I can go without her." I said walking to a waiting Hanabusa.

"I'm not you're personal servant!" Jason called out to me, but I ignored him. I waved to him from behind, "Yeah yeah, I guess you have to climb up that ladder first."

I look at Hanabusa, he was looking at my arm,"Don't take it easy on me or I won't forgive you." I told him. "I wasn't panning on it. Even if I did I'll beat you." Hanabusa insisted. I roll my eyes and turn around.

"We're ready Kaname!" I yelled out. I turned around and saw Kaname and Yuki standing together. He was watching me and Yuki was watching Kaname. He nodded and Hanabusa started a countdown. 3. 2. 1. Begin.

I jumped out of the way before ice could start to freeze my feet. I pulled out my whip and thought better. It would be better if I used it later. "Tsk. That sucks." I said as I dove away from an ice tower. I had hesitated and lost the advantage. I whipped out Sterling and dodged another ice tower that materialized.

"Is that all your gonna do for this fight?" I yelled at Hanabusa and dodge another fast growing spike of ice. It was practically falling from the sky. "No, but it's working right?" Hanabusa asked, standing with his hands in his pockets. I laughed at his nervous chuckling. Of course it's working, I couldn't land a blow on him like this. 

I eventually got close enough to him to strike but a shard of ice landed in front of me, blocking my path. Unfazed, I used my whip to swing myself around it and kicked Hanabusa to the ground. Skidding to a stop, I quickly took a hold of Sterling and tried attack him, but instead I ended up blocking him with, underestimating his vampire speed. I hadn't expected him to get back up so quickly. He rolled out from under me and before I knew it, he had me knocked down.
