~Jason's Pov~
In the end, I never got to see Rose.
I sat, looking at the orb who's light had dimmed, and for some reason, I knew that it was because Rose wasn't happy.
My heart was heavy with the thought. Here I thought it was my chance to be back with her and to hold her in my arms and tell her how much I missed her. Espeically at times, there were moments when Aeternum was more black than silver at all.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Takuma asked, Lady Sara, "You didn't happen to have done something bad when you wandered off on your own did you?"
I glanced down. This was also my chance to leave....but.....Takuma...I had to watch over him.
I just had too. Especially since Lady Sara had him wrapped around her finger.
"Oh shut up," She said as she faced the window, pressing her hand against it.
After a few seconds, her hand melted the glass.
Startled, Takuma said, "L-Lady Sara!" Aeternum went around Lady Sara's hand in an almost inspection for her health.
She swatted it away as soon as it started to look like it was chiding her, "Whatever," Lady Sara said, "I...." she said slowly turning around, "Devoured Lord Ouri's life,"
We both sat there as Aeternum floated back to me.
"With so many Hunters prowling out at night, I could help myself from using one of their anti vampire weapon to hinder their regeneration abilities. But of course they wouldn't be so kind as to do it so...I turned one of them into my servant. And our sweet Lord Ouri invited me to his room...so unsuspecting."
There was a pause and she turned towards us even more, "No," she said, "He he didn't even fight us. No sign of surprise or struggle...all I had to do afterwords was order the hunter away from prying eyes and end her own life."
"But what you did to Lord Ouri...Can you tell me why you did it?" Takuma asked.
She stared at the reflective orb, "Hmm. Our Lord Ouri was an old man. He was only wandering idly until all this would come to an end," Then to herself she said, "Would you believe me if I told you he secretly confessed that to me?"
"A Pureblood without any strong attachment," she said, "is a truly sad sight, don't you think?"
I thought of Rose.
What about her? What could she be possibly attached to?
"I don't want to lose the will to live," she said, "Not like our Ouri. Not like Haruka and Juri. This is why I play the nice girl in front of the vampire council. Because I know they worked with Rido...but he was only doing that to test his skills. Mark my words though, I will become queen one day,"
~Rose's Pov~
I changed into black skinny jeans and a white long sleeved blouse. I wore no shoes but a pair of fuzzy red socks.
Sitting in my seat, I remembered finding ashes on a table in Lord Ouri's room. After being ordered away from the scene, I took Mr. Takamiya with me and we discovered the Pureblood's ashes.
Listening into Lady Sara's conversation, I looked down. So...Lord Ouri wanted to leave. For some reason, I just understood what she meant by not wanting to lose the will to live.
I'm not without a strong attachment.....not yet. Lately it seemed as if I was losing my grip on these attachments....Slipping away like water and all that would be left are remains of what use to be.
