We arrived at the Hanadaji Manor by a Hunter's patrol car.
Halfway out the driveway, we were caught by the headmaster and another guy.
Yuki and Hanabusa knocked at the door but no one answered. When Yuki moved to knock again, I stopped her and kicked the door open.
I ran in. "Kaname!" I shouted, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
We ran up the stairs but halfway, Yuki Hanabusa and I looked up. Mr. Aido was on his knees, head bowed. In front of him was Kaname, an anti-vampire weapon in his hand. The smell of his flesh burning was floating through the air.
Before anyone could stop it, Kaname rose his hand in the air and brought it down against Mr. Aido's head.
"Dad?!" Hanabusa cried out, "Dad!"
I watched, unable to move as Kaname killed the most loving man. The one with such amazing faith in Kaname. He worshipped the ground Kaname walked on. He disciplined his son to be like him.
Hanabusa's father shattered and scattered into dust.
I started bounding up the steps, "Kaname! You bastard! I leave you for an hour and this is how you repay me?"
"I had the sinful luxury of living in peace with all of you. But I'm going with my original plan," He said.
He started to disappear. As I gripped his collar to stop him, pain sliced through my gut. I doubled over, letting him go. I was unable to keep my hold, cloth slipped from my fingers.
I coughed blood and fell back as invisible strings toyed with me, jerking and constricting me further.
The look of shock from Kaname was all I wanted to see. I laughed as he disappeared, "Kaname, you fell for her didn't you?" He fell in love with my ancestor. The one who looked just like me and had a personality just like me.
Kaname disappeared. "Rose," Yuki whispered harshly to me, "Rose, stay with me. Are you okay?"
I gasped as another wave of pain stabbed the muscles in my back. Every fiber of my being told me to cave in. The pain would stop.
I looked over at Hanabusa who laid over the ashes, mourning. He just lost his father. If he loses the closest friend he has right now.....
I gasped, keeping my pain in.
"Yuki," I said, "Stand back,"
I pushed her away as she moved back. The headmaster ran up, "What's happened? What's wrong with Rose?"
Everything became slow for me. I turned over on my knees. My elbows supported me. I painfully reached up to the railing. Every inch I moved felt like I was stretching a ligament. I felt like my joints were grinding against each other, wearing down my body. My head pounded and needles pricked my eyes.
I pulled myself up, falling against the railing. I found little relief in having the railing support me.
My shoes then slip on the side of the stairs.
I fell into the Headmaster's arms. He was frantic, his face looking from Yuki to me. I vaguely heard him yell, "Do something!"
A loud ring in my ear started to annoy me, then, I saw Yuki. Her hair was illuminated and her worried face made me upset. Then a hand covered my face and everything became dark. Everything became peaceful.
After a while, I felt something warm grace my lips, something beautiful. Blood. Someone's blood. It wasn't Jason's. Who's blood was it?
I got my answers.
