(A/N: This oneshot was requested by Samwilsonmyhubby. I hope you like it! The song in the title is a reference to the song of the same name by Frank Sinatra. Now, on with the oneshot!)

"Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?"

I blushed as my husband, Adam, complimented me. We had just dropped off the kids at Adam's parents house and were on our way to our favorite restaurant, Ciao Bella in Bloomington. You see, every two weeks we had a date night to give us both a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of family life.

"Thank you. You look rather dashing yourself." I said back, doing my best British accent.

Adam laughed at my utter failure of an attempt but reached across from the driver's seat to place his hand on my thigh. We were both right though. We did look damn good. We'd pulled out all the stops, me in my best little black dress and him in his best suit. We looked dressed to kill.

Pulling into the parking spot, Adam was quick to jump out of the car and over to the passenger side door to open it for me.

"Always the gentleman, aren't we?" I joked, taking his offered arm.

"Hey, my parents raised me with good manners. Might as well use them." Adam retorted.

We walked into the restaurant, giving our last name before being escorted to their best table. Being married to a former NHL star had its benefits. Adam pulled out my chair for me before taking his own seat. The waiter took our drink order, a chardonnay for me and a gin and tonic for him, before leaving us to look over our menus. It was more a formality at this point to look at the menu as we came here often enough.

Once our drinks arrived and we gave the waiter our orders, I breathed a sigh of contentment. It had been a disaster trying to get all four kids out of the house, as usual, but Matt had been particularly reluctant for Adam and me to go out tonight. After much reassurance that it was only for the night and that we'd see him in the morning, he'd seemed better as we'd drove off.

       "Thinking about the kids?"

I looked up at Adam, not realizing I'd been silent the whole time. "Yeah. Especially Matt." I said, taking a sip of my wine.

"I'm sure they're fine. My parents know their routine by now." Adam said back.

I nodded my head and brought my wine to my lips again, hiding a secret smile. Adam was convinced that his parents followed the kids bedtime schedule to the letter but I knew better. Once we pulled out of the driveway, all bets of bedtime were off.  'It's my right as a grandmother to let them have a little fun!' Adam's mom had said to me once before. I'd just rolled my eyes and allowed it, trusting her.

We talked as we waited for our meals to arrive, mostly about things that were going on in our lives like Adam's upcoming case as a public defender and what I was going to be teaching next in my literature class. When our food was ready, we dug in with gusto, having not eaten since lunch. As usual, halfway through our meals, we switched plates. I laughed as Adam got tomato sauce on his cheek, reaching over with a napkin and wiping it away for him.

Once our stomachs had been filled, we were tempted with dessert by the waiter but decided against it. Instead we made our way to the car with the intent of going home to a relaxing movie. Adam held my hand the entire drive, placing kisses to it every other minute and I knew that the movie was going to be quickly forgotten.

I was right. Though 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' played in the background, Adam and I were much more interested in each other. Kissing like a couple of teenagers on the family room sofa, shoes laying forgotten on the floor, things were heating up fast.

"Shall we move this upstairs, Mrs. Banks?" Adam asked, his voice husky.

"We shall, Mr. Banks." I said back, a smirk playing on my lips.

I squeaked as Adam pulled me up from the sofa and into his arms, clearly intent on carrying me up the stairs. And we would have made it too if it weren't for the phone ringing. Adam let out a frustrated sigh but I just kissed his cheek as he placed me on my feet before he headed for the phone. Having four kids was like being on call at a hospital. You never ignored the phone.

"Hello? Hey, mom. Yeah, dinner was good. Listen, we were just-" Adam said but was cut off by the voice on the other side of the phone. "Aw, man. He did? Poor guy. Okay. Yeah, I'll be right over to get them. Love you too. Bye."

Raising an eyebrow, I watched Adam run a frustrated hand through his hair. "What's up?" I asked.

"Matt threw up and wants to come home so naturally the other three want to come home as well." Adam said.

"Aw, my poor little guy!" I said, feeling terrible that we had left him at his grandparents. "You going to go get them?"

"Yeah, I'll be right back." Adam said, with a slightly defeated tone.

This wasn't the first time we'd been cock-blocked by the kids and we knew it wouldn't be the last. Placing a soft kiss to his lips, I patted his arm.

"Rain check?" I asked, pursing my lips together in sympathy.

Adam nodded. "Rain check." He grabbed his keys off the kitchen counter and turned to leave. "I'll be right back."

"I'll be here." I said back.

After he left, I changed into sweats and turned off the movie in favor of one of Matt's favorites. The rest of the night was spent cleaning up after a sick kid while the other three were amped up from their near stay at their grandparents. All in all, it was a good night.
