I could see my breath as I waited outside for my boyfriend, Guy, to pick me up for school. He was running a little late so we would be cutting it close. As I shifted from foot to foot, trying to get some semblance of warmth going through me, I looked up when I heard an engine rev half way down the road. I smiled as the car stopped in front of me and quickly got into the passenger's seat.
"Another minute and I would have had to go without you!" I teased Guy as I shut the car door.
"Well, if you had gone without me then you wouldn't have gotten these." Guy said, reaching into the backseat.
When he turned back around, I let out a small gasp as I saw the bouquet of freshly cut flowers in his hand.
"Are those for me?" I asked.
"No, they're for Averman." Guy teased with a roll of his eyes. "Yes, Cara Mia, they're for you!"
Guy handed me the flowers and I immediately brought them to my nose, taking a big whiff. They smelled so good! I smiled back over at my thoughtful boyfriend before leaning over and giving him a big kiss on the lips.
"Thank you, Mon Cher." I said as we broke the kiss.
Guy smiled back at me. "Happy Valentine's Day, Y/N."
