(A/N: Here it is! The 30k Oneshot Special! Sorry it took so long. Real life and all that. Anyways, without further ado, on with the oneshot!)"Okay, campers, lights out time!" I called out to my cabin of campers.
The sounds of scampering feet filled the cabin as the campers started getting ready for bed. It was the third week of camp so they had their nightly schedules down to a T by now. It's also my first year as a counselor instead of a camper which was pretty exciting. The only downside was I was away from my boyfriend, Guy, for the next few weeks.
After all the campers were in bed, they all said their 'good nights' and I was off back to my own cabin. My roommates weren't there, as usual, since the counselors usually stayed up late to unwind after a long day of taking care of kids but I was more than content to go back to my cabin and read the letter that was no doubt awaiting me.
Since camp had started, I'd already gotten a few letter from Guy. I'd written back each time, promising to write when I had the time with him doing the same. As I stepped into my cabin, I looked to my bunk and saw a letter sitting on my pillow. Quickly changing into my pajamas, I climbed into my bunk and greedily tore open the envelope. I snuggled into bed as I unfolded the paper and began to read.
'Dear Y/N,
How are you doing? How's camp treating you this week? Any campers giving you trouble? I know you said that one camper, Angela, was giving you a hard time with sharing the equipment in your last letter but I know you can handle her. Just use the same tactics you use on the Ducks and you should be good to go.
Things back home are okay. Everyone's just so spread out now that it's summer that it's hard for us to get together. I mostly spent the last week doing my summer reading and working out to keep in shape for hockey season. Pretty exciting stuff, I know. But just you wait. I'll be jacked by the time you get back haha.
The Ducks, well, the Minnesota Ducks are pretty much the same. Averman got his old job at the movie theater again for the summer, Charlie's working at Hans's place sharpening skates. We're all set to play street hockey over the weekend but I know it won't be the same without you.
I miss you so much. I think about you all the time; day and night. I know they say absence makes the heart grow fonder but I don't think my heart could be any fonder of you if I tried. I can't wait until your back in my arms again. I'm counting the days and willing time to go faster so I can be with you again.
Okay, enough sappy shit. I know how you hate it when I get sappy in letters because you're so far away and you can't hug me. But I really do miss you, baby. I can't wait until visitor's day so I can finally see you as a big shot counselor. I know you're probably reading this in your bunk so I'll end the letter by saying good night and sweet dreams. I love you.
Your bubs,
Guy'I kick my feet under my blankets as I finish reading the letter. I miss him so much and getting these letters makes me feel closer to him. I reread the letter a few times before I put it with the others under my pillow. I know I'll read it again tomorrow before I write my response. I re-snuggle myself down into my bunk and put my head on my pillow. A peaceful sleep takes me and I dream of my bubs.
(A/N: I'm so sorry this took so long! I know it's kind of short too but I was having trouble with it for a while and I'm just glad I could get something down. Requests are open now so send them in to the 'Requests are OPEN' chapter if you got 'em! That's all for now! Until next time! Thanks!!)
