(A/N: Here it is! The 40k Oneshot Special! It took me a little while but I'm finally happy with it. Thanks for being patient! Now, on with the oneshot!)

I was walking off to the side of the Eden Hall campus on the grass, towards my tree. That's right: my tree. During my first week of freshman year, I'd been looking for a place to study and was having trouble finding a spot. The library was full and the dorms were too loud during the day time. I was about ready to give up when I'd found it. The perfect sitting tree.

It was in the middle of the grass on the side of the quad, taller than the buildings. It had a flat side to it that was perfectly shaped to press my back up against it and just enough grass to be a nice cushion to the hard ground. Since then, I'd come here every time I needed to study.

And it appears that today someone else had too. Sitting in my spot up against my tree was a blonde boy who looked about as old as I am, a book in his hands. The rings on his fingers glinted under the sun. He also wore a strange looking hat.

"Um, excuse me?" I asked.

The boy looked up at me with a smile. It made me blush a bit, the radiance of it.

"Hi." The boy said, setting his book down in his lap.

"Uh, hi." I said back, awkwardly. "You're kind of in my spot."

"Your spot?" The boy asked, quirking his eyebrow.

"Yeah. My spot?" I said, pointing to where he was sitting.

He looked down at the ground and back up at me, tilting his head. "Your spot?"

"Yes. My spot." I said, starting to get annoyed. We were going in circles here and I needed to start studying.

"Well, as far as I can see, I got here first. So it's really my spot." The boy said, shrugging his shoulders.

"But that's been my spot for over a year! It's my study tree!" I said, trying to get him to understand.

"Your study tree?" The boy said with a laugh.

"What, is there an echo in here?" I said, exasperated.

The boy laughed again before picking up his book again. "Well, you snooze, you lose." He said before going back to reading.

"But...but..." I tried to say but couldn't come up with anything. I stamped my foot and walked away, defeated. I found an unoccupied bench a few minutes later. I sat down and began to study but it wasn't the same. My back was too stiff and I just couldn't get comfortable. I sighed and packed up my things.

As I walked back to my dorm, I passed my study tree again. The boy was still there, seemingly engrossed in his book. He must have felt me staring because he looked up at me and waved with a satisfied smirk on his face. I didn't wave back but stuck up my nose instead.

'He can have my tree today but tomorrow is another story!' I thought.

The next day, I packed up my things and made my way outside. I leisurely walked out to the quad and off to the side. I saw my tree come into view and a smile crossed my face. Unfortunately, the smile didn't last long as I saw the same boy from yesterday already sitting there reading.

'Oh come on!' I thought to myself.

I hurried over to my tree and stood in front of the boy. I cleared my throat to get his attention. He looked up at me and once recognition crossed his face, that same satisfied smirk came back.

"Hello again." The boy said, closing his book. He didn't have his hat on today but his rings still glinted under the sun.

"Yeah, hi. What are you doing?" I asked, barely acknowledging his greeting.

"Well, I was reading-" The boy started but I cut him off.

"I mean, what are you doing using my spot again?" I asked.

"I got here first. So, again, it's my spot." The boy shrugged, picking up his book again.

He went back to reading as if I wasn't even standing there. I didn't know what else to do so I just scoffed and walked away. I looked back over my shoulder and watched him for a second more before making my way back to my dorm.

'Don't get too comfortable. I will get my tree back!' I thought to myself.

After classes, I rushed through the halls to get outside. I bumped into numerous people but I just yelled apologies over my shoulder as I hurried out the double doors. I could see my tree. It was unoccupied! I slowed my pace, thinking I had finally won, only for the boy to come seemingly out of nowhere and sit.

'Okay, that's it!' I screamed in my head.

I stomped over to the boy. He must have been expecting me because he just looked up at me with the same smirk.

"What is your deal, guy?" I asked, putting my hands on my hips.

"It's Guy, actually. And you're Y/N." The boy, now known to be Guy, said as he pulled his book out of his backpack.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, Guy then. What is your deal, Guy?"

"No deal. Just found a comfy spot to sit and read but keep getting interrupted by someone with a cute mad face." Guy said with a nonchalant shrug.

"You mean my comfy spot! I found that spot over a year ago and I- wait cute mad face?" I stopped myself.

Guy looked up at me and instead of the his smirk, he was smiling. His smile was infectious. I couldn't stop myself from smiling back.

"Yeah. You're cute when you're mad." Guy said.

"I-I..." I trailed off, not sure what to say really.

"How 'bout this. I'll give you your precious spot back if you agree to go to a movie with me this weekend. How does that sound?" Guy asked, putting his book away and standing up.

I blinked at him in confusion. A blush spread across my cheeks as his words finally computed in my brain. "Um, t-that sounds good, actually."

"Cool. Enjoy your study tree." Guy said. He stole a kiss from my cheek before he started walking away.

My hand flew to my cheek. I turned around and watched him walk away, his rings still glinting in the sun.

(A/N: I'm so sorry this took me so long. Real life and all that. I hope you all liked it! I'll open the next poll in the next week or so. I'm working on what requests I have left but they might take me a little bit longer because, like I said, real life and stuff. That's all for now! Until next time! Thanks!!)
