"Do you think, Ed Sheeran's gonna be there?", Aaliyah's jumping excited on her seat up and down. We picked her up on our way to the party at the label, and she didn't stop talking since she got in the car.
Shawn and I exchange an amused gaze.
"Didn't you meet him already years ago? When Shawn sang with him on stage?", I ask.
"No. I was ill! I mean what a shame, Ed Sheeran finally decides to make a collab-act on stage with my brother, and I am ill! A shame, isn't it?!"
Shawn and I nod. We both can barely cover our grin. "A shame", Shawn repeats, and I say: "A shame."
Aaliyah looks suspiciously at the both of us. Then she turns to Jordan who's sitting next to her. "Are they kidding me?"
Jordan decides to say nothing, so Aaliyah turns back to the driver-seat where the chaffeur's driving the car with a calmness I really admire. Again I think of the party at the label I went to with Layla, Geana and Eric back then, and it feels so much longer ago than only roundabout two months.
"Are they kidding me?" Aaliyah asks the driver, and he's only barely covering his smile, too. "I'm not sure they are Ms."
"Oh yeah, they are. They definitely are", Aaliyah says with a grimming face. She sits down again on her seat and stares with raised eyebrows at us. Another long pause.
"I wasn't fan-girling."
Nobody says anything. We all hold back our laughter too bad.
"I wasn't fan-girling. I'm just ... an admire of his music. He's a really great musician", she says, now with duble-raised eyebrows.
"He is", Shawn agrees.
I nod.
"Yeah, he really is", Aaliyah says still sounding suspicious.
We all keep silent, and after a drive of roundabout a minute Jordan makes a weird noise. It sounds like a harmed animal.
Aaliyah looks at him, and he's lifted a hand in front of his bright smiling mouth, pretending to yawn, but his eyes reveal his laughter. It takes only a few more seconds of the serious-tensed atmosphere Aaliyah's sharing, and suddenly, we all burst out into laughter. After some seconds, she laughs with us, too, and the rest of the drive is getting under in laughter and giggles.
