Y/n's POV

Ever since that night I haven't been able to get his voice out of my head, that sudden rush of danger was all it took to hear him again. Once we got home Bella and I spent a few hours trying to figure out what this meant.

We concluded that because she promised Edward she wouldn't do anything reckless that that was why she was seeing and hearing his apparitions.

Mine remained unexplained for I hadn't made such promises. For all I know I may very well have gone mad from heartbreak, who's to say. All I know is that to me hearing his voice felt real, not like some hallucination a doctor would try to conclude it as.

Ever since then Bella's been hanging around down at the reservation, we haven't spoken much on the matter of the apparitions since. She's been hanging with Jacob more often over the last few weeks, her night terrors having all but vanished.

Until last night that was.

I almost had a heart attack I was just getting back into a routine of sleeping all night when her cries startled me awake. A loud groan leaving my lips for my sleep had once again been disturbed.

It was Monday, I sat at my usual table at lunch sighing while I tried to clear the tiredness from my mind. Jessica went on about something and Angela was talking about the recent bear attacks. I had a good hunch to believe they weren't bear attacks but it's not like I can come out and say that.

"Well I saw it!" Angela claims. "Y/n has your dad said anything about these bear attacks?" Angela directs the attention to me.

"Uh..." I trailed off.

"You know, you're not the only one. My dad's been getting reports at the station. Like, five hikers have been killed by some bear. But they can't find the bear." Bella's voice suddenly chimes behind me making me spin in my chair at her sudden appearance.

"Hmm." Angela hums.

"Last time you clowns doubt my girlfriend." Eric defensively claims, even though it was him who had been doubting her. I scoffed silently as Bella sat next to me.

"Um... What happened to your head?" Mike asked. I sat up alert and I turned to Bella.

"What do you mean?" My voice was laced with concern as I reached up to touch Bella's head. A small gasp left my lips when I felt the cut on her forehead hidden away near her hairline.

"It's nothing, I just bumped it that's all." I gave my sister a raised brow at her attempt to dismiss the matter. "Really it's fine... Turns out I'm not made for motorbikes." She hums.

"Motorbikes?" I thought as I remember that night on the back of the man's bike how it felt different compared to when Jasper would drive one.

"Yeah after that night in Port Angeles I roped Jacob into fixing up two bikes from the junkyard. Totally lost control and crashed into a rock." My sister states with little care.

"Bella." I sighed exasperatedly.

"Yeah, yeah I know I've already had a lecture from Jacob and dad. Don't worry, I won't be doing that again." My sister assured me.

I gave her a look. "Oh no, I don't care. I'm just offended I wasn't invited. Like I knew you were hanging with Jacob but bring me along next time it's been months since we saw each other." I nudged her shoulder with a chuckle. "Besides, you did it to see him didn't you." I whisper as I do so.

"Yeah... You heard you know who, since?" She whispered back.

I shook my head, pulling my face away conveying a look of sadness and yearning. "I doubt I will any time soon. I can't be as reckless as you are. I'll find a way though." I shrug picking up a bit of celery from my plate of salad too much on it. "Lunch." I hum moving the salad over to Bella who chuckles and starts sharing my lunch with me.

"So? I mean, Bella's back?" Mike says clearing his throat with a laugh as I roll my eyes.

'I should have known .' I thought as the man roped my sister into a conversation. Ever since the Cullens left Mike would constantly ask about Bella and despite my blunt remarks he was insistent that I kept him updated. Not that I did but now I know why. I mean how coincidental is it that the Cullens should leave and Mike should ditch Jessica?

"Gosh I can smell the drama." I chuckle under my breath.

"You say something Y/n?" Eric asks. I turn my head towards his voice and shake it with a smile.

"Sorry just thinking out loud." I respond. Bella chimes back into the tables conversation from her talk with Mike.

"Do you guys want to go see Face Punch?" She asks.

"Face Punch, yeah! Mike, hey, we were supposed to watch that. Remember, the trailer's like... "Punch faces." Heyah!" Eric enthusiastically mimicked recalling the trailer of the film.

"I remember." The boy answers awkwardly.

"I'm not sure, the last time I went to the cinema the ear piece for the voice over didn't work. Action films have a lot of loud noises." I hum in thought.

"Please N/n, I'll ask Jacob along. He won't mind describing what's going on should the earpiece not work." I could hear the begging in Bella's voice so I reluctantly agreed.

"As long as you pay for my ticket... I'm broke." I laugh, she bumps her shoulder with mine.

"Cool thanks." She agrees, happy that I was tagging along.

"Yeah! Movie night with the twins." Jessica's voice sarcastically chimes from across the table but Bella and I ignored it, we went back to talking among ourselves. She was telling me about her dreams and how they hadn't been as bad since Jacob.

"Sounds like someone's crushing." I teased, the bell signalling the end of lunch rang.

"Not even." Bella scoffs defensively while I hum at her knowingly.

"If you say soooo." I drag out as I take her arm in my hand.
