Y/n's POV
A few days passed since the night at the theatre, I hadn't been in school for a few days, the month of February was ending and Bella nor I had been able to get a hold of Jacob. Bella had caught my sickness after me so relied on my help in getting Jacob on the phone.
Both of us only ever reached voicemail. Soon February was over and March had begun according to Harry Clearwater, Jacob had mono but Bella and I called bullshit.
Something was up that was as clear as day.
So when dad and Harry left to go fishing that day Bella and I decided to head down to the reservation and confront Jacob.
As we drove, a downpour fell over Forks, the heavy rain battered the windshield of the truck. It was soothing but made my huddle into my jacket more since I didn't wanna catch that sickness again.
Bella pulled up to the Black's residence, she barely parked the truck before she was jumping out. I took my time to climb out of the truck, I heard Bella conversing on the little stepping bridge over the stream outside Jacob's house. I used my cane to manoeuvre closer to the pair but remained on the other side of the stream not wanting to cross on my own.
I listened closely.
The rain was loud and drowned out most of their conversation but I caught enough of it to have my eyes widening not only at Jacob's new attitude or Bella's accidental confession; but rather a statement Jacob made shortly before marching off towards the hollering across the garden.
"Did Sam get to you? Is that what's happening?" Bella asked the boy, yelling over the rain.
'Sam Uley? What does he have to do with any of this?' I thought, confused as my ears perked up at the name of the man who had found Bella in the woods a few months back.
Turns out after Edward and Jasper broke up with us we both went wandering in the woods looking for our significant others before collapsing. While Sam found Bella a man named Paul Lahote found me.
It was weird though.
During the numbness of the night, I was breaking in and out of consciousness and I swear at one point I heard the low animalistic snarl of an animal shortly before being found by the man whose arms I had woken up in. I choose to remained silent as he took me home even though he was a stranger to me.
"Sam's trying to help me. Don't blame him. But if you want somebody to blame, how about those filthy bloodsuckers you and your sister love, the Cullens?" Jacob sneered over the rain in response to Bella. Both of us falter at the boy's words. Bella goes on to argue with the 16 year old but he walks away leaving Bella and I in the rain.
After the initial shock of how Jacob treated her Bella crossed back over the stream walking past me as she jumped into the truck slamming the door close. I followed slowly behind jumping back into the passenger seat shortly before she pulled away, anger steaming off her in heatwaves.
