Y/n's POV

The wind whipped through my hair, my arms and legs tightening around the cold frame which held me. Ever since Bella and I had returned from Italy the pair of us had been grounded and forced to be home by 4pm on the dot.

Good thing classes ended early today.

It was May and us seniors were spending most of our time studying for our finals or applying to colleges. Life had been somewhat routine since the whole Volturi incident. Though because of my strict curfew it meant every moment I get to spend with Jasper was all the more meaningful.

He'd still came to my room most nights, but dad has made a habit of checking on Bella and I throughout the night to make sure we were still in our beds. This made his nightly visits a little more uncommon.

The wind whipping at my hair and face came to a sudden stop and the hands which held my thighs lost their grip. Slowly I was lowered down off the back of the man who'd carried me up here. Cold hand grasping my own as I walked around his frame.

Letting go of his hand I took a few more steps forwards soft grass crunching below my feet. I threw my arms out as I felt the heat from the sun cast upon me as it broke through the cloud bank.

"Hmm, sun." I hum in satisfaction as I stand atop a familiar cliff. Jasper and I frequented here whenever we had the chance to get away alone for a while. Like Bella and Edward with there meadow Jasper and I had taken to this cliff top enjoying the peaceful sound of the soft wind that blew by and myself a moment in the sun.

Though I couldn't see the view I could smell the nature around me. Imagining the tall green trees stretching out for miles before me as Jasper had described the first time he brought me up here.

"Do you miss phoenix?" Jasper quietly asks as he stands behind me eyes glued to my frame. As time passed I had grown significantly comfortable with his constant staring finding comfort in it now. Though after six long months away it did take a while for me to rekindle the comfort I sort in his gaze.

I turn my head in the direction of his voice with a soft smile. "Yes, it is nice to feel the heat on my skin every once in a while." I pause as I sigh into the embrace of heat racking my body. "My mother would never let me spend so much time in the sun." I trail off. "I understood it came from a place of maternal instinct but to smother a child... well... I only wish she knew just how much she coddled me."

I rocked back and forth on my feet, Jasper now standing beside me as he lace his hand in mine. I smiled up at the boy next to me as I imagine how he'd look in the sun. My heart began to pick up its pace as I remember the moment, the split second I was gifted when Jane was testing her abilities on me. I could picture his face so vividly now that I had seen it once before, even if the image was distorted behind teary eyes.
