Y/n's POV
"What? What do you see?" Bella asks, voice dripping in worry.
"They refused them." Alice replies dazed.
"So?..." I trail off from the back.
"They're gonna make a scene. Show themselves to the humans." Alice says, snapping out of her gaze as she presses on the acceleration.
"No! When?" Bella exclaims.
"He's gonna wait until noon, when the sun's at its highest." Alice informs. "Jasper will go after."
"God, Alice, you got to hurry up." Bella says with a grunt, no doubt pulling at her hair.
"There's Volterra." Alice replies as she suddenly speeds up even more. Within minutes we arrive in Volterra, Alice starts to honk the horn of the car to get the civilian off the road. The vehicle was yanked in several directions, tires screeching the sound of people chattering echoed outside the car.
"Why are they all in red?" My sister's voice asked scarcely.
"San Marco's Day festival. They're commemorating the expulsion of vampires from the city. It's the perfect setting. The Volturi will never let him get far enough to reveal himself." Alice explains as I listen while death gripping the front seats.
"But vampires still live here." I state.
"The humans don't know that." Alice quips.
"We have five minutes." Bella chimes beginning to hyperventilate.
"I know, Bella, just breathe." Alice reassures as she beeps the horn once again but pulls to a sudden stop.
"What's going on?" I hastily ask.
"Alice!" Bella exclaims as I hear her get out of the car.
"Bella?" I call.
"Bella, you're the only one he can't see coming. If I go, he'll read my thoughts. He'll think I'm lying. He'll rush into it. Same with Y/n." Alice explains as there's a tapping in the window of the driver's side. My confusion goes ignored in the back seat and only grows when someone taps the window.
"Where do I go?" Bella hurriedly asks.
"He'll be under the clock tower. Go!" Alice yells at the girl who slams the door shut and takes off.
"Now what?" I huff as I climb over the back seat into the passenger one.
"We shake off these officers and I get you to the tower." Alice says as she steps out of the vehicle. I slowly climb out waiting for Alice to finish talking in Italian to the officers.
It's not long before Alice takes my arm and drags me along. We both pause when we hear the toll of the bell tower. My heart picks up as I tilt my head to Alice, worry lacing my face as her grip on my arm tightens and her body goes rigid.
