Y/n's POV

"So Edward keeps asking me to marry him." Bella says as I tap my hands on the edge of the sink in the girls bathroom. My ears perk as my head shoots up. To Bella it would look like I was looking at her through the reflection in the mirror.

"Still?" I hum. "He's dedicated, got to give him that." I chuckle moving around the bathroom sink by sink to find the wall so I can dry my hands with a blue paper towel.

"Yeah." She sighs.

"But?" I egg on detecting the conflict on her sigh.

"There's no but." She says.

I quirk a brow after locating the bin and disposing of my wet paper towel. "Have you considered it?" I ask my sister.

"Considered... What?" She asks.

"Marriage." I say letting my walking stick unfold.

"I don't know. Maybe in the future but now just feels a bit too soon." Bella says no doubt shrugging her shoulders in the awkward ways she does. Taking my hand and placing it on her arm she begins to lead me out of the bathroom.

"Have you told him that?" I press further as we begin to walk the halls.

"Not really... I sorta offered a compromise." She admits sounding nervous.

"What compromise?" I say as we stop beside my locker. Bella helps me unlock it before she answers.

"That he ... ya know... changes me." She whispers subtly.

I hum as I place my books inside my locker and close it, turning to my sister with my hand ready for her to take. "You sure that's what you want? I mean it's a big commitment. Both marriage and forever."

"I want him, that's all I know." She sighs slumping against the lockers. "What about you have you thought anymore about the whole thing." She asks as my hand falls to my side.

"My opinion remains the same for now." I reply after a moments thought. I reach out once again ready to make our way to the cafeteria for lunch.

"I thought maybe you'd changed your mind given how inseparable you and Jasper have been." Bella teases with a slight nudge to my shoulder.

"Hardly. Besides, you have a lot more going than me. Just don't rush into anything. It seems like both of you want something but it comes at the coast of the other compromising. Maybe there's a discussion to be had there. Anyway, let's not talk about it anymore. Henry's behind us." I state.

Bella yelps as Henry's voice booms out a "Boo!" In her ears. I laugh as we stop walking, Bella detaching her self to scold the boy while Alice takes my arm.

"Hungry?" She asks with a small skip in her step.

"Starved." I giggle as the girl begins to chat my ear off on the way to the canteen. Once inside the hall Alice and Henry separate from us momentarily.

Bella and I walk over to the salad bar to grab lunch before making our way over to the table, Edward joining us as we do so.

"Tables just ahead of you Y/n." Bella guides as I put my pot of salad down.

"You gotta embrace the cliches, Jess. They are the bread and butter of all valedictorians." Mike's voice echos from somewhere across the table.

Over the last year our group of friends had expanded and now I struggled to locate where people were when in a big group of chatty teenagers. That and the new freshmen were a lot more rowdy than previous years.

"And that is why you are not valedictorian." Jess points out. She of course had been nominated for the Valedictorian role. No surprise since she was the most popular here.

"Jess doesn't need cliches." I say suddenly feeling cold hands on my waist, a chaste kiss pressed to my temple before he helps me to sit in my seat. I grasp onto Jasper's hand as he sits next to me.

"The speech is gonna be epic." Bella finishes.

"Epic? It'll change lives." Jess says enthusiastically.

"Where were you?" I ask zoning out of the conversation to talk to Jasper.

"Teacher held me behind asking if I'd help tutor some students in history." Jasper replies, his finger drawing shapes on the back of my hand.

"Did you agree?" I hum grabbing a carrot stick from my salad and leaning back in my chair as I nibbled on it.

"Not really my thing." He chuckled, squeezing my hand before leaning close to my face to whisper. "Besides, it would mean spending less time with you." He placed another soft kiss to my cheek as I stopped mid chew suddenly flustered.

Clearing my throat, I blinked a few times before saying. "Actually dad said we weren't grounded. Provided we used our free time to see our "other friends."" I use air quotes when saying other friends. "But smooth response." I chuckle while continuing to eat.

"I've decided to throw a party." Alice's voice suddenly cuts through the chatter of the table.

"After all, how many times are we gonna graduate high school?" Henry says playfully as I hear him sit down and pull Alice onto his lap.

"A party? At your place?" Angela asked, flabbergasted.

"I've never seen your house." Jessica chimes equally as stunned at the idea.

"No one's ever seen their house." Eric quips.

"We have!" I brag with a beam as I chomp down on a celery stick.

"Really? You've seen their house?" Eric asks though there's a hint of laughter in his voice.

After locating his voce I scrunch my brows confused. "Of course.... Asshole." I exclaimed throwing a carrot stick across the table in his direction.

"Haha missed!" He exclaims as I slump in my seat.

"Another party, Alice?" Edwards says in a tone that suggests he doesn't like the idea.

After poking my tongue out at Eric's continued laughter I take note of how Jasper tensed next to me at the mention of a party. Frowning I reaching out next to mean my hand trying to locate his. When I do I give it a squeeze in the hopes to offer reassurance.

"It'll be fun." Alice tries to convince.

"Yeah. That's what you said last time." Bella says. I not so subtly kicked my sister under the table as I turn my head to her with a look that told her to stop.

All of a sudden the table goes quiet before Bella's voice seems to draw attention away from what was being said. Suddenly put off my food I slump further in my chair feeling a bit helpless.
