Climbing High

We set out, no plan in mind,
Just mountain air and time to find.
The trail was steep, the sky was wide,
With friends to walk the mountainside.

Shoes worn thin, no grip to hold,
But laughter warmed against the cold.
We rolled through fields and hugged the trees,
Chasing freedom on the breeze.

The path was rough, our feet would slip,
but we kept going, held our grip.
Together lost, together found,
In every step, in every sound.

At the top, we caught our breath,
No fear of falling, no thought of death.
Just friends beneath a setting sky,
And nothing more to ask than why
These moments always seem to fade,
Like shadows cast by trees we've made.
