A Weekend on the Edge

We wandered through the fading light,
With laughter echoing through the night.
Steps on paths that twisted high,
With quiet stars in the open sky.

Cards and cubes and games we played,
Stories shared, new memories made.
We were few, but it felt like more,
Each moment richer than before.

The mountains called, we climbed with ease,
Hands gripping trees, shoes on leaves.
The path was steep, the air was thin,
But with all of you there, I knew we'd win.

Through slips and stumbles, we made our way,
To places only friends would stay.
And though the hours passed too fast,
The memories we made will last.

So here's to fleeting days we chase,
And laughter we can’t quite replace.
To moments gone but never far,
Like fading trails beneath the stars.
