(Disclosure:

The chapter skips around multiple times. I had many things/times that I wanted to touch on to show Joe and Addison's ending to you in the best way I could. I'm hoping it doesn't feel rushed, I just didn't have enough ideas of each of the times/things to make individual chapters for each that would be long enough.)

"Mama!"

I blink my eyes a few times, groaning at the pounding in my head and aching in my stomach, squeezing my eyes shut again tightly.

Mama is not ready for the day.

"Come here, little bear!"

Joe.

"Mama's trying to sleep," he continues, now in a more hushed tone. "We gotta give her some rest."

I grin slightly to myself. This man was sent from the universe to keep me sane, of that I'm sure. But regardless, I'm awake now... and nothing's going to help me get back to sleep. Might as well get up.

Pulling myself out of the bed, I rub my eyes, glancing around at the bedroom. It really needs to be straightened up. If only I had the energy to do so. Maybe I'll ask Joe to do it. Though that's not fair. I'm the one who made the majority of the mess anyway. I'll find time to do it. Just not right now.

"Brae Brea no!" Delphine squeals.

A scream.

"No!" Delphine says again, starting to cry.

Oh yeah, toddler behavior at its finest.

Opening the bedroom door, I walk out of the room and quickly to the living room, noticing Delphine still crying, Braelin holding a toy Delphine always has, and Willa nowhere to be found.

"Miss Ma'am," I say, crouching down to the two of them, focusing on Braelin.

"Mama!" she giggles, reaching for me.

"I need you to give that back to sissy, please. I know she had it," I tell her, pointing to the toy and then Delphine.

She clutches it tightly, telling me she's going to fight me on this one. As usual.

"Braelin, I need you to give Delphine her toy back. We're going to... give it back," I tell her, guiding her hand over hand in doing so. "Yay! Good job, Brae. Del, what do you say?"

"Thank you," she tells her, sniffling.

"Good," I grin.

"Good morning mommy," Delphine tells me, wiping her tears poorly.

"Good morning, my love," I tell her, wiping them properly before kissing her head. "Where's Willa and daddy?"

"In the kitchen," she tells me, pointing in that direction.

I nod, glancing at Braelin who has now moved onto a different toy before walking toward the kitchen, noticing Willa on her step stool and Joe next to her.

"Well, well, what do we have here?"

Joe turns quickly before sighing. "They woke you up. I told them to stay away."

I shake my head. "I heard Braelin trying and you stopping her. It's all good, I'm okay."

He sighs, turning back to whatever they're doing while I lean over to Willa, puckering my lips.

"Hi mommy," she smiles after kissing me.

"Hi sweetest girl," I grin. "What you helping daddy make?"

"Pancakes!" she giggles.

"Yum," I grin, walking over and filling up my water cup, chugging down some of it before immediately regretting the decision.
