"Babe, babe!"

"Hm?" Joe grunts as I continue to shake him gently.

"Get up," I whisper. "The girls are up, they're calling us."

He hums in exhaustion.

"Moooommmmyyyy! Daaaaddddyyyy!!" Delphine calls again.

"Wake up mommy! Wake up daddy!" Willa giggles.

He groans, rubbing his face before giving me a confused look. "You're already out of bed."

I nod. "Yeah, I've been out of bed for two hours now, come on."

"Wha- why have you been out of bed for two hours?" he asks, looking around in a daze.

"Come on," I tell him. "The girls are waiting."

He chuckles. "I think you're just as excited as they are," he says, sitting up as he rubs his face again, grabbing a tee and throwing it on before looking at me and pulling me closer, rubbing down my pajamas to see the bump. "It's gonna be harder to hide it from now on."

I sigh. "Yes, well, good thing Jacob's the only one here right now."

He sighs. "I'm still shocked he stayed."

"He doesn't really have a family to go home to," I shrug, giving him a small, sympathetic grin.

Joe nods. "Well, we're his family now, I suppose."

"Mommy!"

"Daddy!"

"Oh, they're working together now," Joe chuckles.

I roll my eyes, taking his hand off my stomach and pulling him so he stands. "Come on."

He chuckles and we both walk down the hall, opening the girls bedroom doors.

"Good morning!" Delphine exclaims.

"Good morning!" I grin down at her.

"Delly! It's Merry Christmas!" Willa exclaims, coming up closer to us.

"Merry Christmas!" Delphine jumps.

"It's a Merry Christmas but before we can be merry let's use that potty, yeah?" Joe chuckles.

"Okay!" Willa exclaims running to the bathroom.

"Okay!" Delphine giggles, running after her.

After the two of them use the bathroom, we make our way into the living area, presents piled around the tree, full stockings hung by the fireplace that now has a fire going courtesy of Jacob. Santa's footsteps along the floor create the first level of commotion out of the girls followed by bites taken from the treats.

Joe glances over, giving me a small smile, knowing that when he went to bed the elaborate scene in front of him hadn't been so... elaborate.

"Mommy! Look!" Willa squeals, pointing to all the gifts.

"I see, my sweet girl," I grin, stepping around Santa's "footsteps" and trying to crouch to sit on the floor.

"Is mommy sure that's a good idea?" Joe asks, raising his brows.

"Mommy's gonna make it work," I breathe, letting out an exhale as I plop onto the ground.

"You go, mommy," he chuckles. "Where's Jacob?"

"He-"

"Right here," he grins, walking out.

"Right there," I point, grinning.

"I assume you helped with this?" I hear Joe ask him quietly.

"She needed the work boots," he shrugs.
