"Come on, Brae," I sigh, rubbing my hands over my face as she continues to detach, crying out.
Joe sighs next to me, placing a hand on my leg soothingly. "You okay, baby? You need me to take her? For safety?"
I shake my head. "No, I'm okay. She's hungry. I know she's hungry. She's just not wanting to latch for some reason."
"I'm right here if you- "
"Mama?!" Delphine exclaims.
"Shit," Joe mumbles, squeezing my leg gently before climbing out of bed and leaving the room as Braelin continues to scream.
"Brae, come on, honey," I sigh, trying to help her until five minutes later she finally latches again. "Please stay latched."
Leaning my head back and closing my eyes, I feel the bed dip, making me look over to see Delphine climbing up, giggling.
"Baby, what are you doing?"
"I want to be with you," she says.
"Where's daddy?" I ask.
"He sleeping," she giggles, covering herself up.
I furrow my brows, grabbing my phone and pulling her camera up to see Joe sleeping on the floor, his head laid next to her pillow. He fell asleep and she didn't. Dammit.
"Del, baby, no, we need to go back to your bed and go back to sleep. The sun is still sleeping so Delphine needs to be sleeping too."
"But I want you," she pouts.
"I know, baby, I know. But mama's going back to sleep, daddy is gonna go back to bed and go back to sleep," I sigh, standing while holding Braelin to my breast. "Come on."
She sighs, climbing off the bed and walking ahead of me back to her room.
"Babe," I say loud enough for Joe to hear.
"Hm?" he hums.
"Babe," I say again, gently kicking him.
He hums again, lifting his head and furrowing his brows, opening and closing his mouth a few times.
"You fell asleep before Del did," I tell him.
He sighs, rubbing his face. "Sorry."
"It's fine, she just came in and was bouncing all over the place. Do you want me to stay with her instead?"
"Nah, nah, go feed Brae, I'm good," he says, giving me a weak smile.
"You're exhausted," I say, giving him a look.
"So are you," he says, giving me one too.
I sigh, nodding. "True." Turning on my heel, I glance back at Delphine, giving her the mom look. "Go to sleep."
"No." she says.
"Yes," Joe and I say in unison.
"The sun is still asleep, Delphine. You need to be asleep too," I say over my shoulder as I trudge back into the bedroom and climb back on the bed, letting Braelin finish before placing her back in her bassinet and rubbing my face. I grab my phone, checking on the camera again to see Delphine rolling around and Joe rubbing his face.
Sighing, I pull myself out of the bed, walking to her room and opening the door.
"Joe, babe, come on."
He sighs, standing and walking over.
"No!" Delphine screams.
"You are not going to bed like you're supposed to be doing with daddy in here. You know the rule. If you're not going to try to go to sleep, we leave the room," I tell her, frustrated and tired.
