"The girls are up."
The mumble escapes between my lips as I turn to face Joe, my eyes tired from tossing and turning all night, starting to get more uncomfortable sleeping as my belly grows, reaching twenty-seven weeks.
He groans, the late night he had working catching up to him as well. "What time is it?"
"Seven thirty."
He groans. "Can't we call Jess?"
I sigh, rubbing my face. "No, we have a routine, we need to stick with it. Jess isn't due until nine. We gotta get them up and fed."
He lets out a sigh as well, turning onto his back and rubbing his face. "And we're about to have a third? Who said this was a good idea?"
"Us," I tell him, giving him a look. "We did. We had all of the control over the situation."
"What were we thinking?" he asks playfully.
I shrug. "Beats the hell out of me."
He chuckles, sitting up, leaning over and kissing my head. "I'll go grab them."
"Think we can convince them to do snuggles for a while?" I ask, not wanting to get out of the bed.
He gives me a look. "We could try."
Reaching for my phone, I tap the microphone option on the monitor, telling both of the girls to come to our room before watching the both of them listen, both doors clicking as they open them, footsteps running down the hall and soon both girls climbing onto the bed.
"Hi mommy!" Willa giggles, cuddling in between us.
"Hi, my sweet girl," I grin.
"Up!" Delphine giggles, standing on the bed.
"No, ma'am," Joe shakes his head. "Sit."
"No!" she argues. "Up!"
"Mommy and daddy are not ready to get up, Delphine. Sit." He tells her.
"No!" she argues again.
I sigh, rubbing my face before my hand moves to my stomach, baby girl moving around, probably due to the commotion out here.
"I want to eat!" Delphine giggles, jumping.
"Whoa, hey," I start, giving her a look. "No."
She laughs, jumping higher.
"Delphine, stop." Joe tells her sternly.
"No!" she giggles, continuing.
"Delly, stop!" Willa whines.
She continues to jump before tripping, almost falling off the bed as she does so.
I gasp. "Delphine Amalie, that is enough. Get over here and sit down before you fall off the bed."
"No!" she argues.
"Then you can go back to your room until you're ready to listen," Joe tells her.
"No!" she whines. "I hungry!"
"I understand you're hungry. You need to wait a few minutes until mommy and daddy get out of bed," he tells her. "The way you are acting right now is not okay. Get over here and sit down to wait like you were told."
"No!" she yells.
I groan, rubbing my face. "Why?"
"Delphine, let's go," Joe gives her one more warning as she stands, starting to jump again.
