I knew Joe being home would be a Godsend. But just how much, that I didn't realize. Within a week, my stress levels have gone done an immense amount. Damn, within the first day. Granted, it took a few days for Joe to get the idea of how Delphine was acting, what she was doing, and then another for us to figure out how to handle it. Is it fixed? No. Not even close. But we're working on it, we have a plan, and we're hoping it'll fix it. If not, we're lost beyond belief.
"Good morning, angel baby," I grin down at Braelin as she eats, glancing over at the time. Right on schedule. I'll be able to take her downstairs by the time Joe sits the girls for breakfast in twenty minutes.
As planned, Braelin finishes eating with a few moments to spare, allowing me to lie her down for another moment as I use the restroom and brush my face, coming back and picking her up, wrapping her to me as she's been wanting the past few days and then emerging from the bedroom, noticing the girls on the couch and Joe in the kitchen.
"Mommy!" Willa exclaims, being the first one to notice my arrival.
"Good morning," I grin, kissing her head as she stands on the couch, reaching up for me. "Please sit down on the couch, okay?"
She giggles, nodding and sitting.
"Good morning, gorgeous," Joe grins.
"Hi," I smile, walking over and kissing him. "You cooked today."
He nods, shrugging. "I was in the mood."
"Well, it's a yes from me," I grin.
"And this?" he asks, holding up a cup of coffee.
"That one is a hell yes," I tell him, gently taking the cup.
He chuckles, nodding. "I thought so."
I set the baby in the bassinet as Joe places all four of our plates on the table, allowing me to pick up the remote and turn off the TV.
"Breakfast, girls, go wash your hands," I tell them.
"Yay!" Willa exclaims, running off while Delphine looks at me, her brows furrowed, and her arms crossed.
"What's wrong?" I ask, raising a brow.
"I want Bluey."
"I understand, honey, but it's time for breakfast and we don't watch TV at breakfast time. Please go wash your hands and sit down so you can eat with mommy, daddy, and sissy."
"No."
I sigh, glancing at Joe.
"Suit yourself," Joe sighs, walking toward the table. "But the three of us are going to eat and that TV is not coming back on until later today."
"MM!" she hums angrily.
I turn, going to the kitchen and washing my hands before meeting Willa and Joe at the table, Willa already digging in while Joe had waited for me, the two of us beginning to eat now as well.
"Del, when you're ready to eat, you can go wash your hands and come to the table," Joe tells her calmly, sipping his coffee.
After a few moments, as usual, Delphine joins Joe, Willa, and I at the table, wiping her hands on her shirt to dry them and grabbing a piece of pancake on her plate.
"Hey Del!" Willa giggles.
"Delly, what are you gonna do today?" I ask excitedly, giving her a happy look.
"Umm, play mama."
"Oh, you're gonna play? What are you gonna play with?" I ask, raising a brow as I chew a bite of food.
