He had planned this operation for months, he had finally tracked the bastards down but failed to take out the one that mattered, so now he could one do the only thing he could do, lick his wounds and plan again.
Y/n jumped across some roof tops and eventually found the roof apartment he had established as a hideout for his attack, it would be useful it tell he set up a flight back to the states.
Y/n had entered his relatively dark apartment, the city lights shining through to make everything visible , he was two steps inside before an alarm went off in his head, someone was here, y/n didn't bother closing the door, he turned the corner and launched a throwing knife at the intruder.
She had caught it with ease, amused as if expecting that to be his reaction, y/Ns eyes widened a bit from behind his mask as he recognized who was in his home.

This was Yelena belova, effectively considered the new black widow by the criminal underworld, they had known each other quite well, it had started with unexpected meetings, sometimes they encountered each other and if the targets aligned they would work together, it then turned into an oddly close relationship , y/n preferred to keep people at a distance but Yelena was persistent, he didn't understand why she cared so much.
